Good quality and fast scaning.
The Doxie pro is doing exactly what i need it to. Setup was easy and scanning is fairly quick as long as your paper is in good condition. But even for paper thats in bad condition, receipts or other items the single item feed mode works great but obviously not as quick because you have to do them one at a time. Image quality and readability of all documents was good and i didn’t even choose the highest settings. It also auto cropped and straightened all the documents. The size and weight are good for a scanner that can scan 20 normal documents at a time. When its folded up it’s fairly compact. Id say the value is priced a bit high at full price. But I got this used(like new) for $150 and I would say thats a good price for this scanner.

High Quality Hardware, Good Software
My initial impressions are very good. The hardware seems to be well designed. Case is plastic, but structurally the scanner seems rigid and not flimsy. I have scanned a couple of documents, one was a 10 page doc with some wrinkled pages. No issues, one page had a fold in it but it was not at the feed entrance so no probelm. The scanner is fast even at 300 dpi which seems to provide ample resolution, however it can go to 600 dpi. The second doc was a very glossy map that I had kicking areound my office for a couple of years. The pages wren't wrinkled but the surface was not really flat either. The result was the white areas were a little blotchy. This was easily fixed by setting the contrast boost button to Medium (software button), boosting the contrast slider to 18 and reducing the Gamma to 1.51. This is easily done in the software GUI. You don't have to rescan the document to adjust software settings. You can make changes and see the results in real time. Also before you do anything with the Contrast and Gamma hit the Auto Adjust button to automatically take any slight rotation out of the document. Also when you save the documents you can select jpg, png, pdfs and OCR'ed PDFs. Another cool thing is that the Doxie is a US based company, although my Doxie Pro hardware is made in Taiwan. They immediately send you an email asking about your satisfaction and offering help if you need it. So in summary, nice hardware combined with good and flexible software. It supports Windows and Mac. I do wish they had a Linux option as I am drifting away from Windows.

An improvement to their long line of great products!
I've been using Doxie scanners for about 10 years, scanning Receipts, important documents, archiving photos, etc. I needed this one due to several large scanning projects, and anticipating scanning in old educational resources that aren't digitized to use the OCR to digitize them easier. Pros: This scanner has performed to my expectations; is a small size, scanning is effortless, and can scan both sides fast. Occasionally it will jam, but it's easy enough to unjam it and complete the scan. I'd estimate that it jammed once every 300 pages; but would probably have done less had the scanned paper been in better shape. The software i've loved for years; the auto enhancements are generally pretty good, and are easy enough to change if need be. The OCR is excellent as well; one of the main reasons that i've stuck with Doxie for almost 10 years. Cons: -Being able to scan/save to SD card like their other products would have been a nice addition if you're not around a computer to be able to use it. -External battery; it plugs in, which is fine, but if paired with a SD slot, could make this a powerhouse if you're doing a project away from home/computer. -No Chromebook app yet; could be handy if there are no SD slots... ------- Overall, an amazing product to get if you're constantly doing multi-sided pages; this will save you COUNTLESS hours of having to turn the paper over compared to their other scanners. I will keep and use my old scanner as it's more portable and can save to a SD card; but have not used it in weeks now.

Works Perfectly (Refurbished Item)
I decided to take a chance and buy the refurbished scanner to save a little cash. I am not at all disappointed. The product came perfectly packaged, as if new. The software and scanner are both quite easy to use for the basic everyday document and receipt scanning that I do. It's quick, hasn't jammed, and has a compact footprint.

Good choice to digitize without paying a fortune
This is a good compact scanner and worked well for digitizing a large number of handwritten notes. Setup and operation are fairly easy, and I like the way files are stored and organized. That said, it does require some supervision. It occasionally feeds pages slightly crooked, which can cause a jam, and at times it will pull two pages at once. It also isn’t especially fast, so this isn’t a set-it-and-forget-it device. However, for the price compared to other digitizing options, I think this is a solid and affordable solution. I did not scan images or anything with color so I cannot speak to the color accuracy.

Fantastic entry level scanner with amazing customer service
Simple to set up and use. The scanning quality is as good as any I've seen at this price point. My photos scan very well. And customer service is top notch.

Scanning is almost fun
I've been trying to go paperless at home, but there never seems to be an end to contracts, bills, invoices, etc. that still come in paper form (and I need to keep a copy of) despite all my efforts to choose electronic delivery. I had a portable scanner before but it only fed one sheet at a time and sometimes would go in crooked so I had to redo the same page over and over again. Taking pictures with my phone was just as tedious for multipage documents and trying to stitch them together. The Doxie Pro arrived with a stack of papers I needed to scan (and have been dreading). The unit was incredibly easy to set up. Not many steps and the one page of instructions were super simple. I installed the software on an M1 Mac Mini and it recognized the device without a hitch. (Nice touch that the scanner arrived with cables for both a USB A and USB C connection to the computer.) The scanner is pretty quick (especially compared to a portable scanner) and scans both sides automatically. It also took a small stack of papers (5-10 pages at a time -- I didn't have any longer documents) easily, even when those documents had a pretty significant fold in them from the mail. The scans were clear and didn't need to be adjusted or cropped. This is my second Doxie so I knew I liked the software and it continued to perform well. Many devices just don't have great Mac support and though there's nothing fancy about the Doxie software, it did reliably work and was straightforward to understand. Set up took a total of 3 minutes and going through a stack of papers, naming them, and organizing them in my online storage took another 15 minutes. I was actually looking for more papers to scan when I was done because I couldn't believe it went by so quickly. And when I was done, really easy to unplug everything and reclaim the space next to my computer. I'm almost waiting for another stack of papers to pile up to scan again. :/
