LEGO Jurassic World (PS4)

Excellent game...

Bought as a joint Christmas present for husband and 6 year old daughter, they love playing this together as they love lego and jurassic park. The fact it has 2 player function is perfect for the difficulty levels l.

I was looking for a new game to keep me entertained until Batman Arkham Knight is released later this month. This is the first Lego game I've actually owned, and having played snippets of Lego Marvel Super Heroes, and quite enjoying it, I thought I'd give Lego Jurassic World a go. I decided to play the game in chronological order, beginning with Jurassic Park; one of my favourite films of all time. Instantly, it was easy to recognise each character (providing you know who they are in the first place) and the scenes that had been lovingly recreated in Lego form. I did pick up that some scenes had been recreated with added comic effect; I think this was a move to make these scenes suitable for younger audiences. Gameplay: Gameplay is smooth, fluid and well animated; I've yet to experience any drop in frame rate. Each character has their own unique ability, ensuring you put a little thought into puzzles (I mean a little) and don't speed through each level as the same character. Characters and dinosaurs are both responsive to controls and playing as a dinosaur is great addition. There were a couple of instances of clipping and characters getting stuck on objects, swapping to another character and smashing these objects seemed to fix this. The camera on the whole is good, not excellent, but good. It does seem to have a tendency to pan around when I don't actually want it to and in some of the more confined areas can zoom in unnecessarily close, making it awkward to see what's going on. As I write this review I have finished the Jurassic Park story and I'm currently half way through The Lost World story. Finished doesn't mean complete, and in fact to complete the game I will need to spend hours going back into free roam mode, once I have unlocked certain characters, to complete all tasks and collect all the gold bricks. To me, this does feel like a bit of a cop out to extend the lifespan and replay value of the game and I did find it a little frustrating you're not able to complete these objectives on the first run, but it is what it is I suppose. Presentation: The characters, dinosaurs and non-Lego environments all looks great. The smashable Lego objects did underwhelm me a little in certain aspects, with low resolution textures and low-poly models, however, I'm sure this is a sacrifice to ensure higher frame rates and smoother gameplay due to the sheer nature of volume of these items. The weather effects are particularly effective and add an extra dimension to some dramatic chapters. The game has a clean polished look and the blend of non-Lego environments and Lego characters actually stop this game from being over the top visually and colourfully. Sound: The sound is authentic. The original dialogue, dinosaur roars and theme music we've all (well most of us) come to recognise are exactly as they were in the films. However, because some of the dialogue was recorded nearly 22 years old, it doesn't have any real depth to it and actually sounds quite flat (credit to Ben Franklin-Shaw). Combine this flat sound with the cartoonish nature of the Lego characters and you end up with some scenes that just doesn't seem to match. There is also a distinct lack of variety in the background music and, as much as I love the Jurassic Park theme, I just had to turn it off after hearing it for the 1000th time (exaggeration). Having said that, I wouldn't have asked for anything else other than the original actors voices and sound effects. On the whole, it's a solid game. It caters well for younger audiences, who are relatively new to the franchise, as well as people (i.e. myself) who are much well familiarised with Jurassic Park. It's visually impressive and, although it has some minor gameplay bugs, they're not a deal breaker and nothing a quick patch can't fix. Dialogue and sound effects are a mixed bag, though they do nothing to detract from the game itself. I've yet to play the Jurassic World story and I'm certain this aspect of the game will have better clarity and depth due to the recent nature of the film. If you're looking a game you can pick up and play for hours on end or in short bursts, I recommend Lego Jurassic World. It's not particularly challenging but it is fun and instantly rewarding, which is ultimately what will make me go back to play it again and again.

We love the Lego series of games. This is another excellent addition to the series, it is great to play makes fun of the movies in such a hilarious way. My boys have seen the films so they laugh at the way the game is making fun of the films. The game itself is excellent to play it gets a little hard puzzle wise, my son who’s 8 figures it out anyway my boys are 6 and 8 so I would say 4 upwards with a little help should be fine. Very entertaining game so much replay value to get to 100%. A must buy if your a Lego fan.

Good

Once again lego have produced another great game that can be played by young children and adults. My son loves jurassic Park (all the films and anything dinosaur related) so this game was perfect, it's easy to play and kept his interest. My wife completed the game and enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. Worth every penny.

Kids (age 11, 9 and 7) really enjoy playing this. They play from Jurassic park to Jurassic World and can be a range of characters. It sticks pretty closely to the films but adds the typical Lego humour which is good for the kids. Not as frightening or as much blood as the films. Only criticism is, it is quite quick to complete, although there are bonus things to do. Also characters can get "stuck" in certain places, so it needs restarting, and carrying on from where you started. Overall, a fun game that the kids love.

Played this originally on 2ds and decided to purchase for ps4 which is much better on the big screen. Easy controls and my 8 year old daughter loves this as does my 4 year old son but for obvious reasons needs support to complete the game especially on 2 player mode as you need work together. Great graphics and story line and I also enjoying this when kids in bed. Play on your own user name and the game will only save on your username and not the kids so no upset kids in the morning ;)

Il gioco è in multilingue ma quando si avvia il gioco, la lingua è in italiano. Ho comprato questo gioco a mio figlio di 4 anni e devo dire che gli è bastato poco per poter capire come si gioca, se ci si vuole divertire veramente bisogna giocarci insieme, quindi con 2 Joypad. Si crea un rapporto di collaborazione, confronto su come poter meglio affrontare determinate situazioni di gioco e ci si fanno tante risate. Mio figlio quando incontra o comanda i dinosauri si entusiasma sempre molto, e mi fa delle facce sorprendenti. Il gioco non risulta mai pesante e\o pauroso, ma bensì rimane sempre un gioco molto avventuroso ed entusiasmante.

Jugar a este tipo de juegos es súper entretenido. Este en particular contiene las 4 películas para jugar en el mismo juego (de forma resumida) donde podrás elegir a todos los personajes y dinosaurios así como los vehículos de todas las películas. Lo mejor de estos juegos de Lego es el sentido de humor que les ponen a los personajes y a las historias, que tienes horas y horas de juego y no contienen violencia. Compre el juego para mi hijo que tiene 5 años ya que son de los pocos que no tienen violencia y le ha encantado, parece mentira que reconozca a los personajes y sepa jugar tan bien. Nos tiramos largos ratos jugando y divirtiéndonos ya que es muy entretenido. Un juegazo para los niños y no tan niños a muy buen precio. Sin duda comprare otros títulos de Lego para PS4.
