my grandson loved this and played for a long time.

This to me is a mix between clay and sand. My husband touched it expected his hands to feel dirty. It leaves no feeling on your hands, no does it feel gritty. It took shape easily while just squeezing it in my hand. The molds are easy to use, just keep packing the sand in really tight, then gently tap on the mold to release. I will suggest that if this is for more than 1 child, that more sand is probably preferable. It was fun for the children as much as the adults. The sand is easy to clean up if it breaks off from the rest. Comes with a bag to store the sand in.

As a former preschool teacher I have a lot of experience with kinetic sand. This SPACE SAND is so much better. It really holds the small details of the molds and the kids I work with love it! Great toy for getting children to play together. The mini-pool that holds the sand kept it nice and contained, but even when it gets on the floor, it is super easy to clean up. I will definitely be buying more Space Sand in the future and recommend it to anyone who works with kids or has children/grandchildren.

I first purchased a kinetic sand kit for my child about 3 years ago - it was a different brand. It was a hit until sand ended up all over my child’s hands and inevitably in her eyes and then there were a lot of tears - I’m just glad she didn’t get seriously hurt by it.I took a chance with this on Prime day - my child is older and now able to understand that she shouldn’t rub her eyes when playing with this. To my surprise, it didn’t even matter. I don’t know how they’ve formulated this but - there no sandy residue on your hands. It’s almost like clay - except also can look like loose sand when it’s not being molded. It’s amazing.The inflatable tray is genius because after all the toys you buy who has room for another giant art supply item - but yet you need a big space to play with this and contain it. You just inflate it with the pump and it’s perfect - then it folds neatly away.The castle molds are so so much fun! You can build the perfect sand castle that you could never quite build as a kid. There’s also little cutting and smoothing utensils too.I highly recommend. The only con is that the pump is wonky but you really don’t need it - the inflatable area is so small that most people could blow it up themselves. I appreciate that they thought to include it - this toy was just incredibly well thought out in general.

This has been a big hit at our house with our three year old. It's perfect for those cold winter days, so she can still play in the sandbox. While you will likely still lose a few pieces of sand to the table or floor, especially with younger kids, overall this is WAY cleaner than normal sand. It sticks together quite well, and works perfectly with all the included molds. It can be a little tough for younger kids to flatten out with the included roller, but that's minor, as I don't mind flattening it out for her and then letting her go to work/play for the next hour or so. I actually think it kept her attention for about two hours when we opened it up for the first time. The included inflatable sandbox is great. It's a good size without being overwhelming, and it's super quick and easy to inflate. Overall, it's a clean product that appears completely safe, and provides hours of fun. This is a great product for the money.

The picture of the amount of sand you get is decieving. It barely is enough to cover half of the inflatable. I may of had unrealistic expectations (idk) but this makes a huge mess. I dont even know how that's possible. Considering the tiny amount of sand you actually get I imagine it not lasting long (esp. for the price.) I thought that it being kinectic it would stick together more. It makes just the same mess as regular sand. I returned it dont want to sweep up sand everytime this toy gets played with. If your like me and thinking of buying this bc you thought it would be less messy then regular sand, think again! Sand is best left outside or better yet go to the beach!

Great second birthday present! My daughter actually played with it for 45 minutes straight and told her grandfather “I’m busy” when he tried to get her attention 😂The inflatable “sand box” fits PERFECTLY on the IKEA kids table which really helps keep it contained so we can use it indoors.Nothing holds her attention like this and it’s even fun for adults to join in 😊Highly recommend. Also, if your sand dries out (it happens to all kinetic sand from use and being in the air) just put it in a bowl and add tiny bits of water until you get it back to the right consistency.

The blow up tray and tools are a fun addition and influenced our choice. However, the sand - main reason for purchasing - is dry and hard. We are able to mold it but is isn't much fun to cut and play with since we were expecting it to be pliable. It is okay but I suspect that we will end up ordering a better quality sand therefore essentially wasting our money on this kit. Of course, the tools are re-usable so we received some value from the purchase (maybe a few dollars worth?).
