Works As Advertised But Disappointed With Apple's Implementation of Touch ID
This refurbished actual Apple OEM keyboard works perfectly, just as advertised. However, I was surprised to find out that the "Touch ID" function -- which is the whole reason I bought this -- is really quite limited by Apple. At least on the newer operating systems, you cannot use touch ID to log in from a cold reboot, for example. You still have to manually type in your password and there is no getting around it.In fact there are a lot of situations where you'd think you should be able to use touch ID, and where it would be extremely handy and much easier than having to repeatedly manually type in your password repeatedly, where it's simply not enabled -- intentionally, by design. There were a few, and I mean a VERY few, situations where it did give me the option of using touch ID, when repeatedly asking for permissions to allow certain programs and plugins to install, which, admittedly, would have been a nightmare without that function, but far too many times, you still have to manually type in your password, and sometimes even have to reboot to enable a program to run. That type of clumsy implementation may marginally enhance security, but it makes the Touch ID feature next to worthless in my opinion.Again, not the fault of this keyboard. It works great! Just another example of terrible usability by Apple which has been coasting on its early reputation of 'usability" for about 20 years now without actually having a well-organized, user-friendly operating system. One last comment I have is that I made the mistake of buying the compact version of this keyboard without the numerical keypad thinking that I really didn't need it and wouldn't miss it (I had previously had the full-sized one, but without Touch ID). I now regret that decision every day. There is an almost imperceptible, possibly even purely psychological, but very real, difference in feel between the two sizes and I find myself still making numerous typing errors even many months later. I just can't seem to get used to how small this keyboard is and, especially when doing things that have to do with finance or banking, I do miss the numerical keypad -- a lot.But again, that's not related to any fault with this actual product. I'm giving this 5 stars because it's exactly what it's supposed to be and works exactly as designed. Unfortunately, Apple needs to go back to the drawing board on a few things having to do with its design.

Quality.
This is an honest review on this keyboard as it just arrived. When received, the box it came in was severely damaged. Luckily it was in a separate packaged wrapped up in bubble wrap. When getting everything out of the box and unpackaged, the keyboard seem to have survived the trip. I went to turn it on to connect it to my iPad and it wouldn’t sync. Come to find out it was completely dead. The cable they game seems to be a very cheap knock off Lightning cable. In the description of the item, it states that it is usb-c. Luckily this wasn’t a huge issue to do me having some laying around from my old IPhone 12 and IPad 9th gen. Once it got plugged up and switched back on, it instantly connect. (Which I figured it was going to be dead and needed charger anyways) When inspecting the keyboard, there weren’t any imperfections I could see. I had to really look to find any. I took one pictures showing and you can still barely see it. The keys seem to be working fantastic. I am currently writing this review using it. Overall, These seems to be defiantly worth the money you spend. I don’t know about to much of the battery life but will make another review or update this one when I can honestly give you a good feedback. I give this product as of now a 4/5 stars. Design of the keyboard and size it perfect for my desk. Especially working next to another laptop. Really no imperfections and easy setup. Would’ve been a 5/5 but of the way the description isn’t completely accurate. Just when ordering it, Please keep in mind these keyboards will be the lightning port instead of the new USB-C port. Update Jun 3rd,2025- After having this for over a month now and using pretty regularly, I want to give this five stars. It hasn't been anything but awesome. I don't use it constantly but I use it a couple hours a day after work and I still haven't had to charge it from my first. Battery life is amazing. I would highly recommend buying.

Great for what I need
Can I say it’s Apple keyboard it works great with the Mac mini. I got so no complaints so the connects easy to Bluetooth. I would say there are cheaper options, but I haven’t looked at those yet so I can’t really compare it but if you just wanna type as far as like you don’t need the magic keyboard. I just like it cause the fingerprint I ain’t gotta worry about typing and passwords and stuff like that. Everything is good so if you want easy use and it’s good for that but if you just need a regular keyboard, they’re way cheaper options, but this is still good.

Apple tax
As advised. The blue looks really good. I wanted yellow but was unavailable when I purchased.

Battery life beware?
My unit arrived with cosmetic damage on its bottom edge, with minor scratching of the purple coloring on the underside. There was a new lightning to USB cable included. The keyboard will not charge. Having attempted this for several hours charging directly to my Mac, the keyboard would max out at 71%, but as soon as the cable was removed, would drop to 3% and quickly fail entirely. I also tried using a wall charger for several hours, and using my own lightning cable, to the same effect. Returning for a refund.

Good keyboard; misleading product description
Keyboard works as expected so far and the condition appears to be quite good. The description is very misleading, though. It mentions USB-C - presumably for charging which would make the keyboard the current version. But the one I received was the older version with lightning charging. There was nothing USB-C about it.

Not a full size keyboard
Quality keyboard it’s too small. It’s definitely small but touch ID works well. It linked up to my MacBook Air without any issue overall pretty decent product.
