These rulers have great clear markings. Non glare, you don't need perfect light. They don't have as many markings as a machinist ruler. which is a good thing for wood working.

If you want and easy to read, simple ruler perfect for many tasks this is the one. The black background color combined with white markings provides the high contrast that makes this ruler a joy to use. I also like the fact the markings start exactly 1/8" or 1/16" from the ends. I find I rarely need 1/32" or 1/64" so why clutter a ruler up with those ? Face it, 1/8" and 1/16" increment are perfect most of the time. I can always use my machinist scale if needed. Bonus: Rather than aluminum this ruler is steel so a simple wall magnet can be used for handy storage.

I saw this on Stumpy Nubs and bought a 6" and 12". These are so much easier to read than the normal stainless color. I wish they would offer one with 1/8", 1/16" on one side, and 1/10" and CM on the other.

This ruler is solidly built and the marking are clear and easy to read.

Easy to read and cheap! I would have given it five stars, except the black finish is spotty and uneven.

I like the 2 scales, 8ths and 16ths, all I need for woodworking. The black background eliminates glare and makes the markings easy to read at any angle. These reasons make it better for my needs than the Shinwa 12" 4R Rigid another popular ruler. It would be nice if Benchmark placed a hole in the ruler so it can be hung.

I know it’s inexpensive, but the finish is rubbish. Out of the box it’s scratched up and the finish is thin to non existent on one end. The numbers and marks appear to be of soft paint. I would avoid these and look elsewhere.

Should have bought one of these years ago. I am having so much trouble reading my stainless steel rules due to glare. This black rule is so, so much appreciated!
