What a find this little charger is..... I have an elderly lead/acid battery that has had a hard life with many recharges from dead flat. I have a Ring(make) charger. The battery wasn't charging fully. I was unsure whether the battery or the charger was at fault. I went for the cheapest option and bought this charger before replacing the battery...... Wow! I used the PCM facility on this charger and left it doing it's stuff for a good 12-15 hours. It has totally rejuvenated the battery. My experience is that this it a good piece of kit and worth every penny. I hope it lasts a long time. The charger itself is quite compact and has a small cooling fan to stop it overheating. The cables are pretty short but perfectly adequate. When the battery is charged it switches itself off automatically but as far as I can see the PCM function just keeps going until it is deselected.I'm very pleased with this purchase so much that I have been moved to do this review. Easy to use, yes it does provide a decent 8A output during a 12V charge. Has an internal fan at one end, did not come on very much over a a few hours charge. The display cycles through different values (amps and shows charge volts) of information, but interestingly, the total Ah value passed into the battery is missed from this. The Ah would be more useful when charging batteries than the tempertature reading. You cannot beat the price, and into the bargain you also get a rejuvinating mode (takes about 18 hours though) and it can also charge two 12V batteries at the same time in series at 24V. The current display did prove handy and it was easy to see charge state during the cycle as it dropped off towards the end. Great job. UPDATE: I wired in a power monitor display (Vpk IPk mAh etc) on the output leads, it reads incorrectly as the charger is a pulse charger and the display does not make sense with the pulse charging a battery. The charger display does appear to make sense, so don't bother adding another external display.

My car battery is a calcium battery. After viewing many expensive chargers, I found this one. It is a smart charger and charged my battery from totally flat to full charge on a trickle setting. It was amazingly good value, I would recommend it to anybody…..

This is an excellent battery charger for large or small car batteries. It shows you on screen how much it is recharging the battery. It automatically shuts off when it has completed the recharging. I have recharged a large battery on a van as well as a small one on a ride on lawn mower. You can set it for the voltage whether it's a 12v or a 24v battery.

For many reasons, I don't drive many miles anymore, rendering my car battery a bit low on voltage! Recently failed to start so I needed to charge the battery, hoping it hasn't been ruined beyond chargeable use.Given the price, I really didn't think was an unreasonable purchase, hopefully saving me 90 quid on a new battery. It did!I liked the pulse repair option just in case I needed to use it. I extracted the battery from the car at about 1 PM and by 7 PM it was back up to 14 volts, verified using my multimeter. The photo is of the battery I charged.Cooling fan ran all the time but is quiet, unit did not get warm at all. I felt it had good safety features. Croc clips are good and the leads are plenty long enough.This just saved me buying a new battery so for that, I am really, really chuffed. You just connect it up, plug it in and select the correct program. Screen door s easy to read. 100% verify that this is a great bit of kit!
