Does exactly the job it’s meant to do. Excellent battery life and links very well with app for ease of use. Probably the best value for money of all the satellite communicators (for using in the Uk (unless you want additional features like navigation)

This item was great for my daughter's trip to Canadian rockies for those areas with no cell phone coverage. It gave me peace of mind while she was away and also she had a means of getting help if required - thankfully it wasn't! It was very useful for sending a pre written message saying Just checking in - all good! Or 'having a great time'. It was lightweight and small and easy to carry in a backpack or even a pocket. I would recommend this even if only for the peace of mind!

I got this as I camp a lot and can not get coverage when in valleys, it seams to work fine sometimes it can take up to 10 minutes to communicate with the satalites.

Battery drain

On top of the almost £200 cost, there’s a £40 annual ‘activation’ fee and a monthly usage fee of a minimum £14.99. Even with the basic monthly subscription, live tracking is a chargeable service. For free tracking it’s £29.99 per month. If you want to use this all year round it’s going to cost you at least £420 for the first year!

Otra cosa importante es que puedes enviar mensajes y en el caso que tenga Red Celular, se manda por ese medio sin gastar tus mensajes Satelitales. Automaticamente busca cualquier señal y se manda rapido.

Fantastic battery life, I used it for 8 days in and out of cell coverage at only used 40% of the battery. Can be used without a phone, but using a phone via Bluetooth makes things easier. Garmin has several plans to suit your needs, although you must have some plan active to use the system. Easy to set up contacts. 3 predefined messages (starting, stopping and allos well) and many customizable messages. I did not use the SOS, nor did I attempt to test it, but instructions are provided. I purchased a silicone case and that made it not slide around on my dash. The device signals when too hot or too cold, and I was pleasantly surprised that even a full day in the sun on my dash didn't cause it to complain about the heat. The devices uses your phones BT to access the Internet via it's WiFi or cellular (no Garmin fees) and only uses satellite (Garmin fees) when there is no other option for coverage. Great customer support website. Nice way to share your progress via a amp with anyone. Overall great product.

Thanks - - the device arrived and it is just what I needed.

I've been using this for 2 months now and it's been reliable all the time. I bought it to bring camping and hiking with my little dude when there's no cell service. It's just to keep my partner up-to-date and to use in case of emergency. I've also found it's also helpful to text folks who might be meeting up with us. I just used yesterday at a local lake that has no cell service to drop my location and they were able to find me thanks to the pin. The battery life has been great. It can easily last the 2-3 day trips I take with location updates enabled. I don't intent to ever try and make it last much longer. The plan is pricy. I ended up opting for the annual plan. I realized I'd otherwise either forget to activate it or think my activity wasn't "worth it" and then that'll of course be the time I need it.
