This broke after only a half of year. The button to clear drawings wore out. How do you fix it?

How do you change the color

You don’t/can’t. This is sort of like a digital scratch board where you reveal the color underneath.

Can you use this for daily journaling?

Not best option for Journaling. Would be good for daily quotes as it erases easily. Similar as etch a sketch, dry erase repeat. Great bargain though, two boards, pens ect. Kids love!! Adults too.
