Would these work well for calf raises on a smith machine?

Yes, just stack in block form....slide your toe to the edge and lift. Depending on how many you stack will determine the possible drop depth. The wedges are sturdy and provide excellent support. Still start with low weight until you get use to them. Hope this helps!

No, couldnt find a longer than 7 inches option. However, I wear a size 12 and they work great. Foot hangs over a bit but that's fine. I use for either heel or toe support. I stack the wedges in square form for full foot support to perform leg dips. The wedges are not a platform but more of an extension. They will help you increase your stretch depth, improve range of motion, and balance. Also easy to store, pack for gym, or travel. Hope this helps.
