Lifesaver, SUPER convenient, but expensive and short lifespan.
This is a great idea. Living on an upper floor of an apartment building, and snow/temps in the 10's was causing a problem for my two small dogs. After reading the reviews, I bought a 24" square. It took quite a while to get delivered (8 days), but, it arrived in perfect shape. I was pleased to open the box and see a lush green chunk of sod. Note that these do not have soil on the bottom, but are grown hydroponically. This cuts down on the weight and the smell. Additionally, they ship it in an excellent wax-coated box that keeps liquids from soaking through. Why 3 stars? Well, it barely made it a week before it started browning. I've had it for 9 days now, and it's on its last leg. My dogs are 10 and 20 pounds, and they used it quite a bit, I will admit. I tried adding a little water, and always brought it in when the temps went below freezing at night. It started to get a bit of an odor - not urine/ammonia, but VERY earthy and damp smelling. Too much for inside use. Their website hints at 2, 4, even 6 weeks of use. I get how a perfect climate and a 3 pound dog using it once a day might make it 6 weeks, but I will most likely be pitching this at 2 weeks. They offer a magic spray on their website ($18!) that supposedly keeps it healthy and assists with breaking down the waste. Seems a little gimmicky to me, but I haven't tried it. All that said, yes, I will probably order another one. It's not cheap, but WOW is it nice to have this available at 2AM when it's 4 degrees out. I'm a little conflicted with using it, as it feels like the dogs are learning bad habits. Also, it's small enough that if you have a dog that needs to circle around 40X before they go, they often miss the grass. So, good product, albeit expensive, but for now it beats 20 elevator trips a day in freezing temps.

Cats like it too
** INDOOR CATS REVIEW** I’ve purchased this 7 or 8 times now for our 4 indoor kitties. Our current litter box setup = a litter robot, a standard (disposable) litter box, and one of these grass patches. The amount of use this grass patch gets is evenly dispersed between the 3 litter “boxes.” The cats seem to really enjoy using it overall. I will say I’ve learned a few tricks with it. First, add a puppy pad to the bottom and change it every week. It will help keep the grass from smelling as bad. The grass is REAL grass so it does need an occasional watering. Keep it in a well ventilated area and make sure to leave it beside a window so it gets sunlight during the day. The smell can be potent but only when it’s in a confined/closed off area so I try to keep it out in the open to cut down on the smell. It’s pricey… I really don’t enjoy buying it every 3 weeks. But I do think it’s a great 3rd option as a litter box and I like that I don’t have to scoop litter.

Quality
Good quality and arrives fresh. We water it once in a while to make it last long. Perfect patch for our little pet to graze on it.

Incredible Real Grass! Happy kitty!
Amazing customer service!!! The first patch we received the box was damaged and the grass was falling out of the box. It made a huge mess in my home. I was super disappointed with the delivery. I complained to Amazon and the seller sent another patch of grass at no cost which was delivered within a day. The shipping time is extremely fast. I purchased the large patch of grass for my two cats. Unfortunately, my indoor cats are afraid of the grass because they've never seen grass before and don't like the texture. They do enjoy snacking on it and haven't thrown up from it but they also don't eat a lot. The grass is REAL. It has soil and is moist! It's very lush! The website says it can last 1-6 weeks. I think cat owners will get the longest use out of this since cats just lay on it and don't pee or poop on it. I recommend keeping the grass in the box it came in. The lid can also be placed under the box for added padding and protection because the soil is moist. I think the value for this patch is great because it lasts so long. We are going on the third week of the grass and it still looks very green! My in-laws have an indoor/outdoor cat who LOVES his patch of grass. He is ALWAYS lounging on it when he's not outside. It's given him so much peace and comfort. I so badly want my cats to like the grass but they just don't unfortunately. But I definitely think my in laws will be purchasing more patches regularly for their cat. Super happy with this product and that it even exists! Although my cats don't care for it I am so happy they were able to see and experience grass in their life. I am grateful for that. Wonderful product! I initially was going to purchase the patch directly from their website but seeing that they're on Amazon made the process 100x easier for purchasing. Pictured is my in-laws cat on the grass. Update: grass is still going strong and we are on weak 4 however I noticed it is dry. So I think it would be worth lightly spraying or misting some water on the grass to keep it lush and moist. The grass has gotten flat because the cats sit or walk on it so that's normal. But it's still green!
