This kit works well for installing seals. I took apart a lawn tractor engine, replaced the pan gasket, and it came with a new seal. Of course, a 30 minute job turns into 10 hrs, because of lack of proper tools and knowledge. I tried hammering the seal with a large socket, and of course destroyed the little spring inside. I got this kit and tried it again, and it's just way easier, no chances of destroying anything, at least not in my experience. You pick an appropriate size handle, fold the seal, and release it inside the bore, make sure it's seated all the way, and you are done. Pretty smart design, it's quick, and if you install any seals, it pays for itself pretty quick also

They can slip off the seal but so can your oily hands. Don’t use them every time but sometimes they are SO handy. A little expensive but if you rebuild a lot of hydraulic cylinders like me, go for gold bud.

Handy kit for our machine shop where we repair and repack hydraulic cylinders. These tools make it easy to remove and install even stubborn seals. I do not know why we did not invest in one of these sooner. It was a great value for the money, and it looks to be a quality set that will afford us years of service. I hope that our guys can take of the tools and appreciate their functionality so that they can endure the rigors of our shop.
