Great page turner, ending left me wanting more
The characters were well developed and the story was suspenseful and kept you wanting to dive deeper into the mystery. The more you learned about the characters, the more invested in the resolution you became. I found myself excited to reach the end, only to be left disappointed by the ambiguity of it. I personally love my endings a lot more tied up and not left open to interpretation.

holy plot twist
I couldn’t put this book down! After the first 100 pages, it was super interesting! Just when I thought I figured out or had a guess who did it, plot twist. 10/10 recommend!

There was never a game…
Such a capture read. I needed a break from the SJM Fae reading series and always enjoy a good mystery/thriller. This book caught my eye and I’ve heard so many great things about the author so I decided to dive in. Not sorry I did. Although I started the story at night when everyone was sleep & my husband snorted while snoring during a certain part & I jumped 😂 The story begins with a girl/young woman named Nicole who seems to get away from her abductor and runs him over. She’s in hysterics and decides to call her sister instead of the police for some reason. You think that’s the beginning of the story, but is it? It leads into an array of events prior to abduction and present time. The main FMC is Dr. Livia Cutty. She’s working on her fellowship of being a Medical Examiner. So she performs autopsies. This part of the book completely grossed me out, so I had to skim over some of the overly descriptive portions of some chapters. It’s interesting when her findings on a young man in his early 20’s reveal. The story definitely makes you wonder who the perp is and throws you for a loop when it seems like it might be one of three suspects in the story. The very end had me a little confused, was that her sister? And what happened to Matt? So there are some holes in the story of some side characters who seemed like there should’ve been a little more significance to the plot or why bother putting them in the story at all. Good writing style and worth the read.

3.5/4 Stars
This one took a while to warm up. A long while. While a lot of the key points are important revelations and details for later in the story, I personally felt that there was too much focus on the beginning. The last 100 pages were definitely a page turner, however, the ending frustrated me. I love the relationship that formed between Livia and Megan, but I would’ve loved to have a more definite conclusion at the end. Also, Terry is open-ended with no resolve at the end of the story and that is another “ugh” for me.

Psychological thriller indeed!
I'm not a fan of the jumping back-and-forth in time. From past to present they usually drives me crazy but I hung in there. As I finished this book, my heart is still racing.I'm still trying to catch my breath. I felt like I was in the middle of an anxiety attack when I got to the last few chapters. I thought I knew who the killer was but I was so wrong and so Off! I love the anticipation of what's next and psychological facts in this book. This was an amazing read, kudos to the author. I recommend this book to anyone that loves suspense and anticipation of whats next. I loved the thrill ride it gave and more. However, the ending, really¿$@#%&
