Bought this to help remove the MJ smoke and puppy excrement that my neighbors seem to forget about.Thankfully, I don’t smell it in my room whilst I slumber. If it hits my nose in another room, I’ll drag it out of my room, close the other doors so it focuses on the smaller area and helps some. Either the people moved out, stopped smoking indoors, cleaned up after their animals, or this is working. Not sure for certain, but I’m not complaining.It helps drown out noise, as it also functions as a white noise apparatus, though not advertised as such since many people like quiet. If someone doesn’t, then pop in some earplugs (Recommend Loop Pro +18dB on Amazon)Regardless how much I vacuum, dust, wipe, clean, or wash stuff, it doesn’t seem to help, so I got this. During various points in the day the light changes color to indicate level of filth in the air (I don’t have animals but neighbors walk their dogs past my door, so when I open my door I’m sure dander has made its way in my residence. I noticed that it works harder when the heat is on. (Purchased in late Feb.) **Changing out the furnace filter more often helps the quality of air, and stops me from coughing, IMO.So, to sum up, having this has helped. Keeping it on high makes more of a difference than keeping it on low (or one of the 4 settings). My air is crisper if that makes sense, like when you can finally breathe after being congested, taking large chestfuls of air in, or like fresh mountain air.Yes, the filter isn’t cheap, but it’s good for a year, pending the level of filth it has to clean throughout the year. I’m checking it monthly because I’m retentive like that, but I’d rather be able to breathe and not blow my wad on something I don’t need than something I actually do.

I really like my Allen air purifier but after 9 months the sensor went out. Allen’s customer support actually answered the phone and after trying a couple of different things they were very helpful with honoring the warranty and replacement the unit. I would definitely recommend them and their product. And would buy from them again. It is rare these days to actually work with a company that answers their phones and honors their warranty without a fight.Thank you Allen.

Super well made-high quality product. This filter is designed to fun 24/7 and that is what we do. I vacuumed the pre-filter every week - easy to get to. We have been through so many air filter over the past 40 years and this one is by far THE BEST. It runs all teh time in the master bedroom. Worth every penny.

We got this as an upgrade when our Levoit died (after two years..) and this has been so much better. We have a neighbor who uses a wood stove and if the wind is wrong it blows smoke right to our house. With the old air purifier we had it didn’t really do much, but I leave this on auto and it isn’t a problem anymore. It perfectly detects any changes in air quality and adjusts up and down so well! I’m planning on buying a smaller version for my son’s room to replace his. So worth the money!!Side note our 60lb dog accidentally knocked into it pretty hard today (she’s ok) and the cover came off but it was fine and didn’t tip over. It’s sturdy!

Purchased this unit based on the seemingly favorable reviews, and the 'upscale' pricing, figuring it was a get-what-you-pay-for kind of a deal.The unit is indeed very quiet on all but the highest setting, and has a very large filter, and has a nice display panel for the controls.The issue I had was when the display lights were turned off (say for sleeping at night in bedroom, etc.) the unit would stay 'stuck' on whatever fan speed the unit deemed necessary at the time. It was like the sensor wouldn't differentiate between clean/dirty air unless the display lights were on. As soon as you would turn on the display lights again, the fan speed would slow down (provided the air was cleaner).Not an end of the world issue, but still not operating exactly like it should.If you look at the 1 and 2 level reviews, you'll find that most of them are from people that have actually owned the unit for more than a short while, and have had the unit long enough for issues to surface.Seems a bit over-priced compared to a number of other brands, not sure if it's worth the money or not...ended up returning mine and haven't decided on a replacement.
