NOT your cheapos
I was skeptical about expensive shades that look very similar to my $15 bargain box store ones, but you really CAN feel the difference when you hold them. Not only do they feel more durable and well made, they also have excellent hinges that prevent accidental bending out of shape (they can be bent backwards and "give" a bit without putting pressure on the frame, feels almost spring loaded). I've never owned expensive brand name sunglasses, and granted these aren't the super pricey brand ones but this gives me an inkling of why they cost more.Of course, for light blocking and style, they work as expected, but then again polarized glass isn't really a novelty. They're excellent for what they are, but it DOES sort of beg the question of whether or not they are worth the asking price. I guess if you are used to spending $100+ on glasses, this is a decent deal. But if you're used to the cheapos, you might feel like they are overpriced.

A little nicer than I'm used to
This is a nice pair of sunglasses. I'm usually rough with my glasses so I tend to buy the cheap ones. The quality here is definitely better. I have one nice set of Oakley's and the rest of my sunglasses are gas station display quality. These NYS Elites are somewhere in between, so I'll be a little more careful with them. They are aviator glasses, so they are large, meant to cover your whole field of vision. The bottom of the frame is a little flatter than the standard, rounded bottom of the frame that I typically think of when I imagine aviators. They wrap around my face nicely and aren't flat, definitely block the light from coming in. Can easily be worn with a hat without them being pushed down on the bridge of my nose. These come with a pouch but not with a hard glasses case.I like the story of this company too, started by a couple of guys in Brooklyn in the 90's. This is actually my second pair of NYS sunglasses. I picked up some less expensive ones at a kiosk in Las Vegas several years back. I liked them and got a lot of use out of them until I lost them. I would recommend these if you want something that's a lot nicer than the gas station sunglasses but you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars.

An Absolute Ripoff
I thought that at an $80 price point, these would be quality shades. I was dead wrong. First, they didn’t come with any sort of case. That’s a no-no in this price range. Also, the glasses were very wide and small and did not fit my big face. I couldn’t imagine they would fit a smaller face either. These are the types of glasses that you would find in any convenient store in the $10-$20 price range, no more. For $80, you can get a name brand. Stay away from these.

Comfortable, Nice Fitting Glasses. A Bit Large for Some Faces
I love these sunglasses for the most part. I find that they are "heavyish" in a good way and the way they curve allows them to have a better fit. There are no (for me at least) leak areas for the sun go come in or otherwise have light come in to distract my view.I feel like my vision with them is as "high definition" as can be expected wearing sunglasses. When driving I am able to see well during the day and at night. That's not always the case with a variety of sunglasses. I wouldn't say that these are better than some $200+ sunglasses on the market, but they're not far off.The biggest issue, and reason I take away one star, is the size. I have a big head so they fit me well. However, my partner looks like Whitney the Hobo when wearing these. :) No, it's not that bad, but it is noticeable.Anyhow, I do recommend these and look forward to continued great use.
