Fangtastic! (No Spoilers)
I purchased the DVD with the activity set which cost an extra pound and to be honest the activity pack really wasn't worth the additional cost as it just consists of one sheet of stickers, one maze and 3 colouring in sheets with Dracula, Mavis and The Mummy on them. My children have enjoyed the stickers and colouring in sheets but they should have just been included with the normal DVD I think.Anyway the film itself is fantastic and I loved it however there is a scary part near the end which actually had my son scared the first time watching it and he asked for the film to be turned off because of it. So if you have a very young child I would suggest watching the film first to see if it will be okay for them. My son is fine with the film now and it has been played many many times and now he knows the bat isn't that scary he thinks the following events after it are hysterical. The film run time is approximately 1 hour 30 mins and this DVD is one disc. There are also special features on the disc:-Fifth Harmony Music Video "I'm in Love With A Monster"Character Sketch GalleriesDirector CommentaryCommentary with Adam Sandler, Robert Smigel and Allen CovertCharacter/Scene SketchesPreviews (The Angry Birds Movie and Open Season Scared Silly)The film is a follow up to the first one and Mavis has baby boy who when born doesn't seem to have any vampire characteristics and appears to be mostly human. Mavis is considering moving her family to live with her in-laws to give Dennis the best chances in human life with him not showing any vampire tendencies. Dracula doesn't want his family to move away and sets out to make sure his Grandson Dennis transitions to a vampire by taking him on a little road trip and he enlists his friends Frank, Murray, Wayne and Griffin to help him along with the green blobby guy who wants to go along with them. The results are really funny as to be expected but will Dennis change into a vampire or will Dracula just have to accept Dennis is a human? The film is really funny and the storyline is brilliant and well thought out. There is quite a scary bit as I mentioned above and so I would recommend watching before letting a younger child view. I can't see them doing a Hotel Transylvania 3 but if they do I will definitely look forward to it.

In a new direction, but more of the same
Johnathan and Mavis are getting married and later on baby Dennis comes along. But it isn't clear to Drac if Dennis is going to be a vampire or not so he takes Dennis on a monster road trip with his buddies, with catastrophic results. This is a cartoon feature which follows the familiar idea of how normal is it to accept yourself and everyone else, regardless of your differences. The whole film is built around this principle with humans and monsters not batting an eyelid when they are together, both doing ultra-weird things. It's entertaining enough with lots of humour and comic violence. As the main characters have been carried over from the first film there will be a sense of familiarity right from the start (assuming you have seen the first film). As with most animated features the colours are incredibly bright and the clarity is great on Blu-ray. I have the 3D version and this adds a bit more fun to the presentation, with quite a few trick shots with things shooting out from the screen. But unfortunately the 3D presentation isn't all good. Although there is usually a good sense of depth, for much of the time the action going on within that depth is quite flat. But at other times there is quite a bit going on in front of the screen - things spilling out into your living room, which is my favourite type of 3D effect. It's a shame that it doesn't regularly all come together. The audio is dts HD-MA and is really very good - clear voices, lots of special effects popping up all over the sound stage and very full and bass intensive music.

Can we not use the word "normal" anymore?
Such a fun sequel!

Inadvertent purchase
The movie itself is fun, watched it a few times over the years thanks to the kids. Annoyingly, this purchase happened as my 8 year-old tried to watch it on the Amazon Prime app on our TV and I guess somehow managed to opt for the rent option even though it’s included in Prime! There needs to be an option to prevent inadvertent and unauthorised purchases when viewing Prime on a TV or other device which can’t be kept out of reach from children/visitors etc. Anyone with access to your TV remote shouldn’t be able to make purchases on Amazon!
