Lots of fun and educational too!
Ed comes across as a guy who was driven to success, and yet a pretty normal fellow who just had an obsession that needed to be fulfilled. The stories of putting together the team and getting the car ready for this crazy road trip are an entertaining as the drive itself. Overall, a very entertaining read for any car nut!

Ed Bolian is arguably the most interesting guy on Earth, and this is his story
Ed Bolian is arguably the most interesting guy on Earth, and this is his story. Is this the next Great Gatsby? No. Will it be overanalyzed to absurd levels by English teachers in HS? Thankfully I believe this one will be spared. What it IS is one of the greatest real life stories, sort of a modern Wild West. And while lacking horses ridden, there’s plenty of horsepower, and while there’s no riding into the sunset, there’s driving into the black abyss of the night as our three heroes set off in an adventure of a lifetime.I must caution you, this book may spark in you the inexplicable desire to take a cross country road trip, nonstop, while breaking the speed limit in every county you pass.

Interesting Read
Ed Bolian has certainly done a lot of living. Driven by a singular obsession to drive from New York to L.A. faster than anyone else, he details his journey. It's a great read and an interesting look behind the scenes of making this work.I thoroughly enjoyed the pace. It's a quick read.I deducted a star for poor editing/proofreading.

stayed up late reading just one more chapter
The author's writing style is just as engaging as I'd hoped, base on watching a few of his YouTube videos. The only clue that this is an indy print-on-demand book, is a few not-too-distracting typos.Normally I can put down a book at chapter intervals, and resume reading the next day. But somehow, Ed's short punch chapters left me wanting more, and the viewpoint deftly switched from present-tense, to flashbacks. And the guest-appearance chapters written by his supporting cast of drivers, mechanics, scouts, etc, all are well-integrated. There is no over-the-top braggadocio, which makes his hobby all the more seductively presented. Not that he glosses over the challenges or makes it seem too easy either. His introspective sections were just as welcome to me as as his insider reveals of the exotic car business. Speaking of reveals, he very graciously does not drop any spoilers about key competitive elements as told by other accounts of the cross-country race. I now must go read the other books he mentions on the topic, to fill in some background of this fascinating story. Recommended for and gear-head, automotive or otherwise. The passion for tech specs is a common thread that binds us.

Super read about a record that many over the years has tried, yet failed again and again. Ed's account of the trip is extremely detailed and his words flow with the eloquence of Brock Yates, Sr. the creator of the Cannonball Baker Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash. I own and have read Yates' book Cannonball as well as Alex Roy's book The Driver multiple times and I'm sure this will be another that is read at least once a year. My biggest enjoyment of the book is his repeated references regarding his relationship with God. He pulled no punches with talking about his faith and that is to be commended. Thank you Ed for taking me on this super fast page turning adventure!

One of the best books I've read - absolute must read car enthusiasts and anyone with a hugely ambitious goal
I discovered Ed on the VINwiki YouTube channel and was immediately enchanted by his phenomenal storytelling. I heard about this book and eagerly picked it up to see if it would match up with his video tales. It went well above my expectations. This book is a collection of car stories, reflections on faith, and a decade-encompassing pursuit of a wild dream told through a unique blend of comedy, straightforwardness, and raw determination. One of my favorite parts of the book is how Ed brought in so many people to tell their perspective of the story - it really reinforced how much of a team effort this was.I couldn't put it down and stayed up irresponsibly late on weeknight to finish it. You won't be disappointed!

A great read!
Great story about how many challenges and obstacles were overcome while simultaneously educating us about the history of cannonball and coast-to-coast runs.Ed is a great writer and does an excellent job of making the story very interesting while simultaneously adding his own personal beliefs into the mix.

Amazing story of triumph and faith
It's hard for me to stay interested in something for sustained periods of time. This book is only one of three I've ever struggled to put down, funnily enough they're all on the same subject. I thoroughly enjoyed Ed's story of his patience and faith.
