Compact and efficient
This one fits in the toolbox and does the job well. It’s super compact but solid. Pretty straightforward operation and just what I needed for occasional use as a homeowner. If you’re a pro you’ll probably need something a bit more sturdy, but this is good for random jobs around the house. Highly recommend.

Buy with confidence.
SLICK. Finally got around to using this and it worked great. Went exactly where I pushed it through insulation. A nice tool to have in the arsenal.

So Good I Bought It Twice (Yes, Even After It Broke)
I was running a wire through the wall and this little guy made the job ten times easier. It’s compact, simple to use, and actually gets the job done without turning into a tangled mess like some fish tapes do. Now, full honesty: the tip on my first one snapped off mid-job—which I assume was a one-off issue—but it was so helpful that I immediately bought a second. That one’s been perfect so far. For light jobs and tight spots, this tape is a total win.

Practically perfect
This tool has been a game changer at work. I install pre-fabbed custom booths for tradeshows and expos. Not all the time but many times I find myself having to run a cable up or down through a wall to meet up with electrical drops on the floor under carpeting / flooring and this has made my life so much easier. Previously I was using scraps of banding to fish cables through these exhibits and this has me all the difference. I especially appreciate its compact size as I don't use it on a daily basis but I do use it enough that it has to be in my tool box(es). So, it doesn't take up a bunch of valuable space or add too much extra weight. The build quality is also there. It's got all the things I look for when purchasing a new tool: price vs quality vs practicality.10 out of 10

Great
Worth it. Less then 15$ I got to install 10 led lights and 2 fans. The length is enough to fish wire through 1 room.

Worked great for me!
Review of "Gardner Bender EFT-21PN Cable Snake Steel Fish Tape, 25 ft. x ¼ in. Flat Tape"I bought this despite some of the bad reviews and after having used the fish tape, honestly can not even guess at how they had a problem with this simple tool...I bought this to run flat Ethernet cable (Cat 6 Ethernet Cable 25 ft White - Jadaol Flat Ethernet Patch Cable Short- Internet Cable with Snagless Rj45 Connectors – 25 feet White) under carpet across a room that wasn't easily accessible any other way.The very first tug to extract the fish tape made me think, 'oh boy, they were right.' I used a pair of pliers to grab the tip and pull it out a couple inches. Once it came out of the body of the reel, the tape itself unwound easily. NOT with the crank as the directions clearly say, you hold the reel with one hand and pull out the tape with the other. I'm 71 with arthritis in my fingers, this was NOT a challenge!!Due to the thickness of the tape, I was able to push it across ~15 feet of carpet between the pad and the carpet and it followed a perfect line to the far side. Honestly, I've been stalling on doing this job because I assumed that it would be a huge hassle, but with this fish tape it was absolutely easy. When I had the cable pulled across, I removed it from the fish tape and used the crank to wind it back up.If anybody cares about this part, once I got that flat Ethernet cable through to both sides, I gently pulled it all the way to one side and then the other to work out any twists that might have been introduced in pulling it through.

Tricky to unwind, but works fine after that
This unit is okay, but tricky to unwind. Here's my take:PROS:* Good length for running cables up/down walls, even two stories (from attic to ground floor, for example).* The tip has a hole which allows you to use a zip-tie to attach cables.* The crank winds the tape back in easily.* It is small and basically does what it says.CONS:* This is very, very difficult to unwind. I first tried to unwind this thing in my attic but gave up. This tool needs THREE HANDS to unwind - one to hold the handle, one to hold the tool itself, and another to pull the tape out. It's a huge pain. IN the end I had to hold the tool with my legs, and use my other hands to try to unwind it. It was slow, but I finally got it. Now I unwind the unit FULLY before I plan on using it.
