HomakPRO II Series 54” 6-Drawer Top Chest, Black, BK02054602

I haven't had it long. I do like the lock mechanism and locking features such as being able to close a drawer after locking the box. I did think the box would be a bit heavier duty than it is though.I moved it down a star. For the price I started regretting buying this. The drawers get "stuck." In order to get them to open fully I've had to pull real hard and about 2" more comes out.

I purchased this cabinet less than a year ago and the drawer has already failed. The problem is that the drawer does not have a stop to keep it from relying on the latch to stop it and therefore the metal on the front of the drawer fatigued and ripped. I contacted Nancy in the Homak customer service department regarding the failure and was told that this was due to abuse. This box has never been abused and is only used by myself and my wife in our construction business. The problem is a faulty design which uses the latch as a stop, I have two other boxes from other manufacturers one is over 40 years old with similarly sized drawers and loading that have never failed, both have drawer stops which keep the metal at the latch from taking the full weight of the drawer. I would not recommend this box which is supposed to be professional quality.

I really thought that homak was batter than the box store quality but this tool box is embarrassing. Draws don't lock it's chinsy and cheap. I really feel that I over paid for this I should have just gone to harbor freight. I had one of those boxes on my service van for years and it was better than this.
