Works great and gave me the peace of mind
Update: my kids have been using this for more than a year and it still working great except for the stylus. The stylus stop functioning some time ago despite no physical defect.I brought two unit despite all the negative review because I really like the ecosystem. I don't want toddler to go online, got exposed to unnecessary advertisement and whatnot. First of all, I brought leappad ultimate and leappad ultimate ready for school. On hindsight, I shouldn't buy 2 different version. The "ready for school" version has more games. My kids start comparing and it is a big headache for me.I've set the parental control for 30 minutes per day and been using it every night for a couple of months. So far so good. The loading of app do takes a couple of second, but I'm sure the kids can wait.I bought the screen protector as recommended. As for the stylus, it looks sturdy and fine. I don't see how the tip can come off. I'm trying to preempt it by using additional glue, but I can't detach it with force.I read that the memory is limited, so instead of downloading, I brought the cartridges. Is pretty small, but I'm the one who keep it. My kids will let me know if they want to change the game. So everything is well keep and organize.I'm glad that I brought this leappad. My 5 year old enjoys all the games selection, but my 3 year old got bored easily because he is not interested in educational games yet. All he wants is to watch video and that's only one video in it. Hah!

Nice kid friendly learning tablet
Purchased for my daughter. They have used many LeapFrog learning toys over the users years (Leap Reader pen, Leapster GS, LeapTV), and I am impressed with the design and quality of the devices and their games. My daughter loves her new tablet, and is perfect for what it is. I like knowing that the games are good quality (obviously with input from child psychologists), and that they can't accidentally access anything inappropriate. Another plus is that any previously purchased Leap games that are cross device compatible do NOT need to be purchased again. Recommended.

My daughter loves her "book."
This is my daughter's favorite "book" as she calls it. Her screen was cracked on the 4th of July and she was devastated but I think I was more. My daughter has a lot of energy and is very smart. This is one of the only ways I can get her to slow down so I can get things done around the house. I contacted the manufacturer and unfortunately cracked screens are not covered under warranty. We had to buy another one which is a bummer since I thought the screens could not break. We even have this in a protective case.Since she has learned so many things from her book we had to replace it I'm! She's almost 2.5 and knows quite a bit and is a little sponge. So far she knows all of her phonics in any order, sounds of each letter plus corresponding words, can count 1 to 60. Can count to 100 by 10's, knows alphabet with upper and lower case, if I choose any letter in any order she can tell me which letter comes next, knows over 20 animals and sounds they make, knows how to spell her name, wells, mom, dad, wow and love. Knows her full first, middle and last name. Knows 8 or so shapes and can draw a circle. Knows her colors. Knows at least 25+ songs and some other things.I know she did not learn all of this from her book but some of it she definitely did! Her Daddy and I do a lot of reading and songs and other activities with items we bought on Amazon to help her learn.

I'm a Belieaper ;)
My six year old LOVES her LeapPad. She is practicing reading, writing, typing, counting. I love that she gets the support she needs but doesn't HAVE to use. Battery life is strong, lots of choices for games that are kid friendly and safe. I love the simplicity of the plug and play game cartridges that support specific subjects (reading, math, etc.)

I would love to give it a five star review because it is a wonderful and fun teaching tool except I bought a total of eight in the last 3 years “Because they don’t last very long.”two of the eight came from the factory already not working. They were very good about sending me new ones. You can never talk to anybody when you call customer service

Great system
My daughter revived this for Christmas and she loves it. She is rough with it so the pen that comes with it broke. Hard to find a replacement but we found something that would work. It’s a very educational electronic.

Unusable - Known issue - Tech support says "your contract with Retailer" - return to seller
I purchased two of these tablets. One pink, one green. Within about 2 times using it it wouldn't hold a charge or even turn on. It flashes a battery message turn turns off. When you plug the charger in it changes color to indicate a full charge but still cannot turn on. I don't know what's going on with these but there is obviously a recurring pattern occurring with other users experiencing this issue. If you look at the other reviews for this product and also the green color many users are experiencing this issue. Leapfrog support replies saying contact us at facebooksupport so we can work with you directly but I've contacted them three times already and all that happens is uk tech support replies and says your contract is with retailer - return your product to retailer. This is not working with customer directly. They didn't even ask me any questions to investigate the problem further. I want a replacement because I purchased several hundred dollars worth of games (almost one of each title) but I'm worried the replacement will have the same issue. Dear Leapfrog - please provide more information as to what's going on - and when a reliable replacement will be available that's not part of this faulty batch of products.

My 5 year old daughter LOVES her leap pad. Lots of educational games to choose from, in a variety of price ranges. Will be purchasing a second one for my son, once he gets a bit older.
