Liberty Tabletop Classic Rim 45 Piece Flatware Set for 8 Made in USA

I was weary of my 15-year-old Oneida 18/10 flatware that always came out of the dishwasher looking dull and was, frankly, a bit flimsy. I wanted a major upgrade to something I could pass down to my descendants. I soon found that none of the major brands on the US market meets that standard. They are all Chinese-made (not that there's anything wrong with that), and, if anything, the quality had diminished since I bought my old set. Then I stumbled upon Liberty Tabletop, read about how their process and standards differ from those of Chinese manufacturers, and decided it just might be worth paying more.I was delighted with the weight, feel, look, and overall quality of this flatware. It's beyond anything I've ever owned before, and I can now say with certainty that for some items, Chinese manufacturing falls far short of American. I also love that, for this pattern, the knife is cast as a single piece rather than as a blade and handle welded together. (That welding has weakened over time on all my previous sets.)You really have to see and hold this flatware to fully appreciate the difference between it and every other brand on the US market. It costs about double, but for something you'll use daily for decades (and this stuff will probably last a lifetime at least), I don't think that's excessive at all.I ordered this flatware in connection with a kitchen remodel, which is ongoing as I write this, so I haven't used or washed it yet. I'll update this review after the first few washes.UPDATE 06/28/2016After about 4 months of daily washing in a brand new dishwasher, this flatware looks as awesome as the day I unboxed it. Not a single speck of rust or other discoloration, and they fit just fine in my dishwasher's flatware baskets.Another unexpected joy of using this set is how the pieces feel in the hand. They're unbelievably smooth, something I never expected and didn't even know I wanted until I had this set. But now I could never go back to "ordinary."

They are forks, spoons, and butter knives. I wanted to get something, sight unseen, I know was good. They are definitely really nice. The spoons feel really smooth and the forks are really pointy. It’s really awesome to know they are made ethically and humanely. They are the best in the world. It’s nice to know I have the best cutlery in the world.

I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase of 18/10 flatware!! I had previously ordered a set, also 18/10 from a different manufacturer (made in China) but when I got it I was very disappointed with the sharp edges everywhere. Thanks to Prime it was easily returned. Then I heard about Liberty being made in the U.S. so I did a little research (I like that it’s an environmentally conscious company) and ordered this set. Wow, what a difference!! Yes I paid 6x more but you definitely get what you pay for and this set will undoubtedly last a lifetime and beyond. I love the shape, the weight, the durability, the shine, and absolutely no sharp edges anywhere. It makes a beautiful place setting and I’m extremely happy with my decision to spend the extra money (especially since it supports a wonderful company here in America). I don’t write many reviews but I felt compelled due to the high quality of this flatware.

I love the look and feel of these utensils. They are aesthetically pleasing and feel very well made. They are a joy to eat with. Forks and spoons slide across your lips without any friction are roughness. Nice and smooth. The ONLY problem I have is the balance. Load your plate with food in the kitchen and put a fork or spoon on the plate and walk to the table and the utensil falls. Forks and spoons are tail heavy by design. I have been walking with plates and utensils for over 50 years and dozens of styles and this is the first one to drop off the plate every time. You have to put 2/3 of the utensil on the plate and get food an the handle to prevent falling. Its not a huge problem I just have to change many years of behavior to avoid. Slightly aggravating. Had I known this, I would have looked for a different design form this manufacturer. weight distribution should favor the eating end of the utensil by 65% in my opinion.

Best silverware I’ve owned. Looks great. Great feel and very durable. Made in USA. Very pleased.

This stuff is made in the USA and really no more expensive than foreign made. I highly recommend that you consider this beautiful flatware and Libertys other table pieces as well!

They started rusting after a few months and now a year and a half later i find myself having to try to remove teh rust stains constantly with vinegar.

Great made in USA product that will last for years. Great size and weight. A little expensive, but will last a lifetime hopefullu
