I am suitably impressed. The handle seems well made and it's easy to use. I even ended up needed its ratcheting mode once on my first job tapping 30 holes in aluminum. That saved me taking apart the machine, so I'm happy, though most of the time I just left the ratcheting off and twisted like I'm used to.The taps themselves cut very cleanly and were easy to drive in straight. And, while I only tried the m5, the screws went in smoothly. I bought this to replace another tap that snapped off on this same job and the difference was night and day. This unit took way way less force and I never felt like it was going to snap off. Each hole only took 15 seconds or so to cut and retract. Note that I used Tap Magic the whole time. If I failed to add a drop on each hole, it got noticeably harder to cut, but when lubed, the tap went in like butter.Great set.

Sizes are etched on the tap stem very poorly and very hard to read, which is probably why the packer made a mistake. In addition the chuck was extremely hard to turn -- very poor production quality.Amazon replaced the item. Replacement is better. Ratchet feature seems to be ok. I have not yet used the taps, but based on how slapdash this supplier appears to be, I would recommend going with a higher quality item, and this item ain't cheap to begin with.Note: taps in the kit: 3, 4, 5, 6, 8mm. NO 7mm in case you were hoping for one.

I bought a harbor freight tap and die set, the handle that came with it broke after only about 10-15 uses. This one has lasted through about 20 so far, and still going strong. One major downside though is the parts fall our easily, and the ratchet easily switches midway through.

A very very nice tool for chasing threads. It has a ratcheting mechanism (works in both directions) that's very nice when working in tight areas. Quality appears to be very high.
