Ridiculously Great
As a grandad, I am always trying to find toys that engage my grandchildren. Often I strike out. Sometimes I get a single or a double. But this toy is a definite homerun. It's simple, easy to play, competitive, and just plain fun. An outstanding buy.

Brings old memories.
Played this game as a kid with my parents and have get memories of my dad playing. Can’t wait to give it to my son and tell him about his Nonno when we used to play. ( Son is 38 lol)

Slightly different from the original
There are two primary changes from the original battling tips you may remember from your childhood. On the positive side is that the tops are not launched by winding a string around them. Instead, a toothed cord is fed pats the top. Once you get the hang of it, it is far faster and easier than winding a string around the top. The second difference is the size of the playing surface. It is MUCH smaller. This results in a less impressive “fight”, and difficulty finding a table where four players can easily reach the arena to launch their tops. In a perfect world, we’d have the old full sized arenas with the new style launch cords. One other change is a score keeping device at each station, which is helpful. Still a lot of fun, and with the new launch cords, somewhat easier for kids to use.

Just like the 1960s version but more plastic
I cannot believe this is still available. What a fun fun game! I had this when I was a kid, but the spinning strips were made of metal and they were SHARP. This is all plastic. The tops are plastic. The arena is plastic. Everything is plastic and I was dubious about the overall function. I need not have worried. It works fantastic and we had hours of fun on the first night. The youngest kids are 7 years old and they handle launching the tops like a pro! Squeals of delight when one top knocks the other out of the arena! A total of 4 people can play, but they do include 2 extra strips to launch to tops. This brought back very fond memories of my childhood and now the grandkids are making their own! Love it!!!
