This thing works great! Tips: fill the sandbags COMPLETELY, stretch and lay out the fabric on the ground as much as possible, then prop up the sticks. The sticks are okay, but be careful when putting them in the ground as they can bend/break. This was sturdy in windy weather!

The canopy was definitely useful, and did work, however it was through some trial and error we eventually determined the best approach to setup. The instructions are minimal, however easy to follow. Sand bags should be filled first, with as much sand as possible. If you have 4 people, it's ideal to set up the poles evenly spaced at one time, as it was a little complicated to set up in the wind with only two individuals. There are no anchors for the poles, and depending on the amount of wind on the beach, it would be best to have a method to get the poles wedged deep in the ground. Due to their nature (collapsible and light), you cannot put a ton of pressure on to push them into the sand when met with resistance. Glad I had it, but will absolutely look for anchors to secure the poles.

Don't waste your time. It was an absolute NIGHTMARE to put in the sand at the beach. The poles leaned and didn't want to hold up, even though the sandbags were filled to the brim. Maybe it's just Destin sand, but even though I scooped and scooped and tried to bury it deep enough, it wouldn't stay up. It took me 45 minutes with 3 small children to put this sucker up. I was so overstimulated and overwhelmed that I cried for a long while after getting it up. Once it was up, it was alright. It's small, so you can't stand underneath it. And there was no way 8 people were fitting underneath it. I'm out of the return window, or I'd return it. I'll have to use it again because I'm allergic to the sun, but I will be throwing it away as soon as our trip finishes. And I'm NOT looking forward to setting it up again... at all.TLDR: just get something else. Not worth it.

The stakes which are a cheap flimsy plastic broke right off the bat, thank goodness I had brought the umbrellas and their stakes as a back up , it was a little bit of a pain for my first set up, but now that I know what works and what doesn't next time will be easier the canopy was nice and way better than using umbrellas but I did use umbrella stakes to replace the cheap plastic stakes that come with this tent, so just a heads up ( have a backup) , while it provides enough protection from the sun we got rained on and it just came right through the canopy, no big deal but just wanted to add that for people getting this for camping or picnics not one bit waterproof, the bag is not well made and is made like those cheap reusable bags you get at the dollar tree, I don't expect it to last long,and we lost points for how heavy it is, I got the 10x10 and glad I did because we take up Alot of space on the beach with chairs, coolers & stuff but I have a beach cart so I put it in there but if you are hand carrying everything, this little tent weighs a few lbs. Otherwise I really liked it and will definitely be taking it on future trips but I will be using umbrella stakes because it was so much easier that way.
