Q: Do you leave the mop pad on all the time or only when mopping, i assume only when mopping and maybe wash it now and then?

Only when mopping but it’s not like it’s soggy or anything you can get away with changing it hours after it was ran. I’ve noticed as a household with 2 dogs and tons of hard flooring we can only get through one use before it needs washing but it comes with 2 pads.

Q: where can we get costumes that fit this robbit?

I don't believe my Al shark ultra wears costumes so I'd say yours will not be asking for a customer. Let me know if I'm wrong. Thank you

Q: Does it go over small thresholds between rooms without a problem?

Yes, it will climb over thresholds easily and onto some high-pile carpet mats. It did try to climb over a power supply "brick" in a corner and got stuck, but that was only one time. We clear the floor of obstacles, cords, and drapes on the floor, and move chairs and stools where feasible. We are delighted with this Shark vacuum. It will clean about 1/3 of our upstairs (2,000 sq. ft.), go to the station to empty, and clean more before returning for a battery charge. Then it will resume and finish the job. It seems to know areas that need an extra pass and will come back to those areas on the last run. I highly recommend this robot vacuum. I have others, but this one is very advanced.
