Aladdin Swimming Pool Replacement Skimmer Basket for Hayward SP1070E B-9 B9 (Full Size)

I didn't realize that the plastic thing attached to the inside bottom of the basket was a weight. I cut it away, and then understood my error. The basket may float when installed in the skimmer, if the pump is not on. After reattaching the weight, the basket gently sinks to the bottom of the skimmer. So far the basket seems pretty sturdy, but these baskets get attacked by the chlorine and usually become brittle and fail after a few years.

Think I am about to buy my third. The previous two lasted about 3-4 years each. Once, one started floating to the top so I just thew two small pebbles into it, Not sure how long the Pentair brand lasts, but 4 years seems reasonable for all the leaves and debris that wear on this thing. May buy one with a long handle on it instead this time, though, due to deteriorating knee issues. But a pool guy I know said most of those fall apart, so not sure.

Doesn't fit my Hayward filter wanted to return it but from a 9.00 charge it received 1.81 because of reshelving of item..I thought I was buying from Amazon..nope I guess somewhere in china..so don't buy it if you are not sure of itIt and very cheaply made not worth it

My old basket lasted for about 5 years hopefully this one will too. I like to use a pool basket sock over the skimmer basket. This basket is nice and smooth so no snags in the sock and the basket fit perfect. A good buy for the $$. After one year still going!

Had to return was to big

Received both baskets and one was already broken - weight holder piece was broken off. Not serious enough for me to return so I repaired. Won't buy again - price paid is a reflection of the quality

Works great! Easy to clean all the dog hair out.
