What a great water bowl!
I had bought a small water bowl that only had a lid with an angled hole to resist splashing which worked for my German Shepard mix since he was fairly relaxed but his half pitbull son was an entirely different story. Always fairly excited, strong as an ogre (and about as intelligent...) would often times tip the old bowl over and spill up to a quart of water all over the floor of my semi. Finally got fed up with that and figured I'd give this bowl a try after hearing it was here on Amazon after the current company bought out the original inventor of the bowl. When it arrived, I washed it out and filled it up. I didn't notice there was a maximum fill line on the internal cone piece and over filled it. Well, obviously when I turned it over in the sink it dumped a lot of water out but when I filled it to the line it kept every bit of water inside while I turned it completely over and back up again. It had even better retention in the only area my other bowl which is shaking the bowl back and forth in an attempt to get the water to slosh up and out and I could only manage to get it to do that when I shook it excessively, way harder than it would have experienced on the truck. This bowl is absolutely awesome! I'll try to remember to get an accurate measurement and pictures of I remember. So far I'm fairly happy.

Toddler Proof
My toddler cannot dump the dogs’ water all over the floor like he used to. He can still shove his hands and feet in the water, but that’s a way smaller mess.It also seems safer for kids because babies and toddlers can drown in even an inch of water. But the opening of this bowl os too small for him to get his head and face in there (still big enough for a narrower dog snout though. The lid is very tightly on there too, so my kid has not been able to remove it.Huge pain to clean, but it’s worth it. Before we got this the poor dogs had limited access to water all day because we could not keep a bowl full for any length of time. Can’t recommend this product enough for pet-owners with toddlers/babies.

Works as advertised, love it
This does what it says! I have a messy German Shepard that holds water in his mouth and drops it when he moves away from the water bowl and he also aggressively splashes when he drinks. It removed the mess AROUND the drinking bowl. So I have 50% less water on my floors. I cant comment on if its spill prof as I don't snap the top on all the way. This is so I can disassemble it easier. On the con side, it is difficult to take apart if its assembled properly but that is expected for this type of product. If you have hand dexterity/strength issues this will be difficult or impossible to disassemble.

Stopped lakes in our kitchen
We have a 1 year old golden retriever that we just adopted and she's the first dog we've ever had that likes to paw at her water bowl inside. Which means she would spread water all over the kitchen when she knocked it over or got her paws soaked. She also would drip all over from her mouth. When she started doing it while we were gone, we tried an alternative bowl with a floating plate. That worked really well, until she finally pawed it over and spilled it while my husband wasn't home. Then she figured out how to push the plate down with.Would have put the bowl in a holder but we have a short rat terrier mix so that's out.It was between this and the slobber stopper. The videos of folks turning their bowls over with little to no spill sold us and the price was less than the other one so we bought it, 44oz.She hasn't tried to roll it over once. Not ONCE. Granted she still spilled from her mouth but I'll take that over lakes in the kitchen. The lid is so well on there that's even if she did knock it over it probably won't come apart. Heck I struggle to get it off but it's worth it. Definitely follow the instructions on removal of the lidThe cone inside does come apart from the actual bowl, but it won't if there's water in it. So I found that removing the lid, then turning the bowl over to empty it in the sink usually breaks the suction.Refill is easy, I usually just keep it together and fill until the level evens out.It would be a five if it stopped her dripping all over but works for our main issue.
