double updates: From 5 to 1 to 5 stars again.
When my rosehip oil was almost gone I decided it was time to see what else is out there. I love to try new products and change up my already extensive face routine. This face oil is packaged in the cutest box and tissue paper, and you get way more than expected. The jar is a full 4 oz. It smells divine! It is blended with rosehip, jojoba oil just to name a few and sinks into skin perfectly. I use this morning and night. I also use it on my hair and cuticles.- UPDATE: When I first got this I loved it. And then I looked at the rosebuds two months later. They are completely covered in mold! It is so gross. This means I have been smearing oil and MOLD all over my face daily twice a day for months. I can’t even begin to describe how gross that is. When I first received the item I thought that they could mold but didn’t think they would since it was a highly reviewed item on amazon. After discovering the mold I will be throwing the rest of the bottle away.- 2nd UPDATE:The manufacture reached out to me about the issue with the rose buds and replaced the original without the rosebuds. The oil is wonderful! Couldn't be happier with the solution.

I almost gave up on it
So glad I gave this oil cleanser a second chance. The verdict, based on other reviewers, looked like a toss of a coin. I have used 4 other oil cleansers before and this one is my #1 inexpensive category for sensitive skin. I have used Tata Harper, Biodroga, The Face Shop and Amaki. Tata is too expensive for a stay at home Mom and Biodroga does not clean my face. My two favorite are The Face Shop and Amaki. TFS is great for use after make up and Amaki is awesome for those sensitive days after a chemical peel. I’m just glad I gave this cleanser a second chance because the first time I used it I did not use it right and almost returned it. I was so excited to try it that I used it immediately after it arrived. I put it on my dry hands and then my dry face. The cleanser just stood on my skin like a lotion. I hated it and thought of returning it. Then I decided to give it one more try before returning it. The second time around I did wet my hands and my face before pouring two drops of the product in my hands. Wow! What a difference! The product lightly suds and gently cleans away my face. Afterwards my face feels clean and very soft. Amaki cleanser is great to use after chemical peels. I started to do my own peels and I love how gentle this oil cleanser is with my skin after a peel. The smell is not the best. It has an initial scent of grapefruit but then fades away into fish oilish (like those fish oil pills) but not too bad; just annoying. I don’t mind it because I don’t need harsh perfumes on my face after a peel anyway. My husband has very sensitive skin and he also uses it and has never had an issue with it.

Nope
This product does not clean. I tried this stuff dry, I tried it wet, I tried double washing. I tried triple washing. This stuff goes on thick and oily, but just doesn't wash off - it just smears around and leaves a tacky residue that water cannot penetrate. I had to use my old face cleanser to wash THIS STUFF off. I have used DHC olive oil cleanser for years and that stuff works beautifully, cleans and rinses right off. This Anaki oil cleanser though? Nope! Returned. ......... 🌟 FYI ... I absolutely love the Amaki Jamine and Rose Nourishing face oil though. That is a beautiful product!

Good, but the smell is odd
Little background info: I have combination skin and I used this right before a homemade charcoal foaming face wash.I purchased this product as it had a good rating on cosdna and was within my price range. I wasn't expecting this product to completely change my skin. Like other reviewers said, it's a thick oil cleanser. But the instructions clearly state that it should be washed off and wiped off with a towel, so it wasn't too big of a deal. I have a lot of blackheads and I haven't noticed any changes there. It's a good oil cleanser in that it doesn't negatively affect my skin. One upside is that my skin is noticeably brighter or "lighter" after using it.I do have one complaint. I have taken to massage my face daily with the oil cleanser at night. While the grapefruit scent is light and refreshing, after a while, it starts to smell like the grease used for deep-frying. I'm not suggesting there's a link, but as someone who's worked in many restaurants, the scent of grease is off-putting.Otherwise, a pretty good oil cleanser for the price.

I was disappointed since there were so many positive reviews
I sent it back after just one use. It was too thick and had a weird smell. It also did not clean effectively. I was disappointed since there were so many positive reviews. I've not found anything better than Tatcha's cleansing oil.

Great cleansing oil.
This is great cleansing oil. My face feels clean and soft after using it and I like the mild smell. I’ve been totally happy with all of the Amaki products I’ve tried.

I love how soft my skin feels after cleansing with this ...
I love how soft my skin feels after cleansing with this oil. It smells amazing. I use this before my alcohol-free toner (I use witch hazel). My skin feels super soft afterwards and ready for any additional serums, moisturizers, etc.
