Oh man I love these. They are sturdy, very attractive, mix well with anything and the absolute perfect size for ramen, not to mention soup, stew, pasta etc. . They stand up well to the dishwasher and the fluted sides make them feel fancy. I have given them as gifts and people love them.I started with one 5 years ago, then got one more ... now as a gift to myself bought 2 more for guests etc and I LOVE THEM.. They are in constant use. You may not think you could excited a about a bowl but that's because you don't own these bowls yet. I am only reviewing mine now and letting the secret out because I am all stocked up- for now.

My favorite pattern is the Japanese wave pattern ("Seigai-ha" or "Calm Wave" pattern) so when I saw this I snatched it up. It came well packaged and is a generous size. I use it as a catch-all bowl for jewelry or small objects on my night stand. It's really beautiful and would make a good gift :)
