Linux is strange to me, but it pretty much performs
OK, first of all. I am not a computer genius...Still takes my old confuser awhile to load up .. seems like the new program has to load in every time I use it.Other than that, there is a marked improvement in performance. My old set had quit on audio a long time ago and every attempt at fixing this called for some Intel drivers that were not available, even using the supposed Driver Update programs that I fell for a couple times. First thing I noticed with this Linux system is that I had audio again. Also, I attempted install of Linux systems previously and never could get the wireless to work. Again, as soon as I started this new module, I had wireless.Only negative is that Linux won't pull up my Windows programs so most of my history is sitting there unused. Also, it wont work on a lot of apps for (good) PC games. Just have to search for Linux games....But the price is a fraction of what I spent trying to (do-it-yourself) salvage this old laptop over the last few years.Speaking of price .. this Amazon price was pretty good. The often advertised PrairieT direct to consumer price is higher, feature to feature, unless I missed something. You do need memory in the stick, but I am a little hazy on just how the program utilizes the computer memory. I thought I had it figured out until the slow startup became apparent.Bottom Line is that the Linux system works, but may not perform in every application.

Worst product ever. Will destroy your computer
Definitely do not get this product. It is the biggest POS I’ve ever purchased!!! I’ve tried to contact the company three different times for assistance with their product. This product does not work with none of the Microsoft programs or Apple programs. So if you have any work to do in an office the programs that you have to work with XL word etc. won’t work. Then the biggest problem after that is when you try to remove it from your computer your computer crashes and it will not operate anymore. Basically it will ruin your computer!!!!! Don’t get it biggest waste of time and money. Worst thing I ever purchased I’d give it less than a star or better yet how about -10

Xtra-PC brought my dead PC back to some degree of life
I have a very old (2007) Compaq Presario Desktop PC which was being used for occasional internet access and very little else. The hard disk died and the Windows system was unable to boot despite multiple attempts with my limited knowledge and using the Compaq recovery CDs. I purchased the Xtra-PC Turbo 32 with the intention of trying one last time before scrapping the PC.The product took longer than usual to arrive (about 10 days through the mail). It was definitely not a simple plug & play operation and required several iterations of modifying boot settings before the Xtra-PC system started to load; however, once it did load, it came up as indicated in the online user guides and I was able to successfully complete the initialization sequence. Once loaded, the Xtra-PC system routines allowed me to test the PC hard disk and confirm that it was not functional (could not even be formatted). I was not able to recover any of the information on the PC hard drive (which I have since scrapped). I added a USB memory stick as an additional storage device and now have a limited functionality but reliable workstation on which I can at least run the native Xtra-PC system utilities and can web-browse with Chrome. Not a perfect outcome; however, much better than having to scrap and replace the entire PC.

Easy to use.
This a Lenux program, so it does not revive Windows programs. It operates as the substitute hard drive for your computer which it bypasses and does not access. I used this first when an update of Windows 10 (when I was not home) left me with the blue screen of death. I got Windows back by going to the Microsoft site and downloaded to a flash drive the Windows 10 repair program. This is actually a Windows 10 download which is completely separate from your previous program, but it leaves all your old windows documents, pics, etc. in a file called old windows. I hope this helped. Good luck.

Results are Unknown
I followed the directions, though some items did not track -- different names than were on the instructions. It finished, but did not provide a listing of what was done. My Dell computer does not seem to have any better speed than it had before. All in all, I am not sure it did anything to help its performance. For two cents, I would ask for my money back, as nothing has changed in a week's activities since I used it.

A great tool and a big help!
Okay, I do NOT use this to make my PC faster. It would do that, and it does work. I use it as a rescue tool. I can boot into a system, resolve issues, capture files, delete items. On a system that will not boot from an op system error this thing is one of the best tools I have.I listen to folks say it is a rip off because everything on it is free, or open source. Yes it is. But my time is valuable to me. Sure I could build one, but why should I? These guys took the time to put together a great tool that works really well.It works as advertised. It has saved my customers from costly bills for file recovery. I have two of them, I have given some away to other tech friends. They all appreciate it, and use it.This is a great little tool, the price is okay. I would recommend it to anyone who needs what it can provide.

Your computer will not work again with all your own data ........easily.
This is not a way to get your computer working again,It is a Linux system which acts as a computer in stand alone mode. Buy a 32 Gig thumb drive and get a 32 Gig stand alone Linux System. You will not get your regular boot up screenYou don't get simple access to your regular programs. You don't get simple access to your hard drive. The ads and the amazon page fails to tell you that.If your familiar with Linux you can find some workarounds but if you expect to plug this in and have your old computer come up with all your old stuff running at blazing speeds then you will be disappointed. Not for anyone who wants there machine to be resurrected with all your old stuff available, Especially if you know little or nothing about the Linux operating system.
