I cut open the cable since I needed to modify one end (different plug).what I found was disappointing. there is a thin, very very microscopic thin foil wrap as a 'shield'. but, this is the problem - its NOT CONNECTED to anything! there is a black wire for common ground but it runs up the length of the cable and it NEVER touches the foil wrap! foil just floats and that makes it less than useless (yes, that's right).conductors are tiny and the jacket is too thick and useless.this is a 100% fail. do not buy this cable or from this brand. if this is what passes as audio cable, just DONT BUY THIS FOR ANYTHING.wasted time and money, sigh ;(

I purchased this cable to replace a 6’ cable I had running to my subwoofer so I could move it to the other side of the room behind the couch. After setting it all up, I noticed the subwoofer had a constant hum. I moved the subwoofer back to where it was with this wire and still had the hum. If I switched back to the old wire the hum quit. This wire seemed to be faulty or something as I had constant feedback while using it.

I wish I had listened to the other reviews, but I tried to save a few bucks over more expensive SHIELDED cables.I’m using this to run a power sub, via a Denon 7.2 receiver. This cable produces a horrible hum on the sub. I know it’s not my equipment, as I bought this cable to replace my current shielded cable that is too short and running across the floor. Even when it’s only plugged into the sub, and not the receiver, it still has a loud hum like it’s shorted.Build materials seem to be good. It was nice and flexible, and fit behind my sub which is only 2” from the wall. But it doesn’t work as advertised..

Beautiful looking but I used it to move my record player and there is a constant humming it's definitely not cool

Purchased these to connect an external Parasound amp to the mains pre-out on my Yamaha receiver. Does the job. Rather loose connection compared to other cables I've owned, FYI. Doesn't seem to affect the sound quality, however. I especially like the gold plating at this very low price point. Build quality seems decent.
