Molnlycke Mepiform with Safetac Technology 4"x7", 5 Count, Self Adherent Soft Silicone Sheeting for Scar Reduction

I used Mepiform over my, already healed, keloid scar that had been there for years. The scar had redness and stuck out significantly in areas. I have been embarrassed about it for so long. I put a strip of Mepiform on and was nervous so, only half a week later, I removed the tape. Actually my daughter took it off for me. My one daughter said that it looked better. The rest of my family was in shock. My one daughter was freaked and asked if it was legal and asked " Is it safe?" I hadn't seen it until after them. I have to tell you, I was quite surprised that such a simple thing could make it so much better. The redness was reduced and the scar was much better, smoother, and sticking up way less. It's like a miracle. I would recommend that you try this. I have sensitive skin and had no reaction. Anyone who has a scar that looks bad, a painful keloid scar, redness in a scar, bumpy or unusual textured scar, You need this! I applied it to a huge scar that was from multiple surgeries on my arm, broken in 3 places. That is the main reason I purchased it. The arm surgeon had claimed that it would not keloid. He was wrong. From the top of my arm/shoulder to almost my elbow is a mammoth scar. In my arm is a metal plate. Plus the stitches made me 26 small keloid baby scars down the edges. All painful and getting no better with time. Over a year later I was having physical therapy and my therapist had a strip on her arm. I asked what it was. She said that her Dr. told her to wear it to prevent bad scarring. I have suffered so long with a growing scar and complaining to my Dr. every visit. He never once mentioned it. Never said anything about anything but plastic surgery. The plastic surgeon said that he couldn't guarantee that it wouldn't grow back. I hated my arm. I would cry about it. No more tears This product is absolutely changing my outlook on life. The scar I felt I had to hide is going to be much better. I'm so happy. It has gotten lighter colored and lower in areas. My skin is smoothe feeling where it was bumpy skin before. No joke this is amazing. I was afraid to try it. Now I'm so happy that I did. Added perk is that you when you have the strip on it reduces pain I had from my shirts that brushed against it and bra straps that were hurting me a lot. I am showing my Surgeon, that didn't seem to know this existed, how much better it looks. Maybe he can recommend it to others suffering from his scars too. Let's hope so.

I purchased this as a post scar treatment for my tummy tuck and breast lift with implants last month. My doctor's office recommended it and carried it but since I had my surgery out of state, I didn't need it right after surgery. Doctors want your scars to completely close and heal (about 4-6 weeks) prior to using it. I saw it on Amazon and decided to order there. My doctor's office had told me that although it was expensive, it worked well and could be worn for a week or longer without having to remove the strips (even after wearing it in showers). When my package arrived, I opened it and although the inner 5 packages where sealed, the one package I opened at lots of bubbles in the bandage (between the silicone and the backing. I knew then it would be a problem because that meant that air had got between it and the sticky part would lose its stickiness. I cut strips to fit my breasts and tummy (almost an entire package). I woke up the next day, went to the gym and afterwards took a shower. All the strips but one fell off in the shower. I was very pis*ed. They are supposed to hold up through several showers but this was not the case. If I had to replace the strips every day after a shower, the whole box would only last 5 days! That is way too expensive for me when it is suggested to wear them for a month or two. That would be 8 boxes at $85 each, NO THANK YOU! I'm hoping my box was just defective but at $85 I didn't want to chance ordering them again. I purchased the Mepitac tape here on Amazon that is 3/4" wide by 118 ft long. It is only $19 for much more product. Molnlycke really takes advantage of post surgery customers with their ridiculous price for silicone tape! I inquired about the tape and was told it is the same thing and works the same, so why pay 4 times more for so much less product???

I've been using it it's been one month and 11 days. I had a ski accident and the right side of my face, close to my jaw fell on my ski pole while descending a head wall. A severe evulsion took place and for you to have an idea, my ski pole bended totally. After a week, when the wound was healed I started using Mepiform. I would clean the affected area with twice a day and apply the bandage. I like this size because I was able to cut the size I wanted. As I have the bandage placed close to my mouth (which I move to talk and eat) and as I use face creams, bandage wouldn't last glued to my face long. So I started using one new square in the morning and another new one at night. If you place it on a very clean skin it lasts longer because it sticks better. Also the color (beige) gets lost in your skin color and protects the scar from the sun. It's worth it. All one can see now is a small flat scar line. Yes, it's pricey, I know, but was worth every penny!

The scar on my broken elbow, over a joint, is barely noticeable. Great product!

Used this tape post breast lift, I am almost 6wks postop and had my follow up with my surgeon yesterday- he was absolutely amazed at my scar progress!!!

This product really does work but does not stick as well to some areas (like the palm of hand) as advertised. Change it often for best results.

Great product. Without a doubt helped my scar heal better. Before applying it, my scar was more prominent, very sensitive and definitely a different texture than the surrounding skin. Now my scar I s a lot less obvious, the tender area is a lot smaller and it feels like skin again. I saw a previous review talking about bubbles, there were areas in the middle of the bandage where it wasn’t completely stuck to the plastic backing, I had no issues with them. Bandage still worked fine and I had no adhesive issues. To me, this was well worth the money. Not the cheapest, but it’s not like I can undo the scar, so having it heal this much better makes it well worth the price.

ETA: DON'T BUY THIS. I contacted the company and after months and sending a sample they finally sent a letter that there was nothing wrong with their product despite the huge bubbles and lack of adhesion only where the bubbles are. I am so disappointed. I was really excited to use this- I have a keloid on my chest which was aggravated somehow and started to grow, the new part was bright red. I have several scars and have use silicone compression before, so know it works. These packages came bubbled and fall off after two days, no matter how careful I am and how much extra I leave around the scar. This was way too much money for that- it should stay on longer than two days.
