one of the correct replacements for hunter 20723-380
This is one of the correct replacements for hunter 20723-380 but in my case the 5UF four wire cap did not fix my issue. I needed to replace the 3.5uF two wire one. It is still likely best to replace them both if you have, like me, gone to the trouble of taking the fan apart.

The capacitor went bad in one of the fans shortly after purchasing a home. I replaced the switch and capacitor (with this one), and we were good to go.

It works!
Good capacitor to repair my ceiling fan that shorted and went into high-speed mode. Works great. My only reason for not giving it 5-stars is that the laser printing on the side is so light that it's nearly invisible. Good thing the wiring color codes matched. So if your fan is running at high speed and won't slow down. This is the most likely cause.This new capacitor tested perfect for value (5 Mfd.) and ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance). So I'm confident that it's a quality part.

Very inexpensive fix for expensive fans. Took less than 30 minutes from start to finish.
Saved us over $250 for a new fan.Quick and easy option for repairing damage motor capacitors. Took 5 minutes to disassemble the fan, 10 minutes or so to connect, solder and seal the wires. Had the fan back in place and fully operational in less than half an hour for every thing.Great cost saving repair for Hunter fans.

Works fine.
After replacing the switch and capacitor, I get high/low/ low/ off when cycling through the speeds. The old capacitor looked like it had overheated. I have concluded that the mid-speed motor windings have an open section. It could be the capacitor or switch, but I doubt that is the issue. The fan spent most of its 30 years on medium or low speed so I guess I can’t complain. I have decided to live without the middle speed.
