Conexis L2 Smart Door Lock [NO Subscription Required] Remote Access from Anywhere, Anytime, No Key Needed, Works with Alexa, Google Assistant and Philips Hue - Chrome

This is probably the most sleak looking lock on the market. I've had this for a year now, and I find myself using the app to unlock the door the most, and it works pretty reliably. I did find that you need to align the pigtail with the lock pretty accurately, otherwise the lock will not be able to tell if the door is locked, or it'll randomly beep saying the door is unlocked. But these issues can be ironed out with easily with just a few adjustments. The integration with Google home is ok, therefore I mostly only use the Yale lock app, which does support connecting automatically through either Bluetooth (if you're close to the lock), or WiFi (if Bluetooth fails or you're further away). Google home integration works but it's so slow at unlocking the door, which I just give up trying.

The handle is well made and high quality and the actual installation onto thew door was surprisingly easy (though I would only attempt it if you're a very confident DIYer). The problem with the product is the poor instructions, poor software and poor app (Which you have to find yourself as the one they send you to is not available). Bluetooth wont work with android and Homekit wont work with Apple. You can also only remote unlock, it is not possible to do remote lock and there is no manual backup. I actually got locked out when fitting it, because the app crashed, the connection crashed and the keys I had programmed failed to work. It's being returned, but I won't get back the 8 hours I spent messing around with this.

Was very dubious on reading other reviews, but was the best decision to buy this product. The only smart lock with a kite mark, and instructions fairly simple and straightforward whilst watching the instalment video too. I did make sure the centre of the handle spindle was 92mm from the centre of the lock, might have been a different story if this wasn’t the case, but the handle I was replacing was the perfect size. Pairing the key tags didn’t work first time, but then activated them with the app on IOS, which seemed much easier, even ordered another set of fobs and paired them through the app a few days later, which again I was dubious about as a couple of the reviews said they had to wipe all tags and disconnect and start them all over again, but it all worked out week for me. Would 100% recommend this product for quality, style and sturdiness.

Full review of this Yale smart lock. I purchased this whilst on sale at £150. The pros. Easy to install (took 30 mins, never changed a lock before) Simple lift to lock Auto lock when away from home Door sensor a great plus (if left ajar or open) Easy to add more keys and assign to people The downsides The app is very basic and a bit slow There were no instructions in the booklet for the magnet Auto unlock when home can be a bit delayed Unable to use phone to tap to unlock People mentioned it being loud but in my case it really is not (see video) the beep notification sound can also be changed via the app to be mute or louder. I am a smart home geek and have this integrated into my Home Assistant. Purchased some NFC tags, hidden them outside so now I can tap to unlock. Feel this should be a standard in the app and wouldn't take much for Yale to implement can only presume they want to sell the accessories. Would definitely recommend, just the app removes a star.

Edit: I’ve had this lock for 8 months and now unable to lock the door from outside. It won’t lock when I lift the handle up and won’t lock via the app. Contacted Yale to process a warranty claim. Absolutely useless product. After trial and error, I managed to link to Alexa and add the phone tags but this was only after trying different techniques, which aren’t included in the guides. However, there are still some infuriating issues with the system, including the contactless fobs which need to be deleted and added again with numbing regularity. I cannot open the door from the inside, unless I remember to carry my phone around with me all the time. Using the contactless method (fob, phone tags) does not work inside the property. There are no instructions to unlock the door with voice commands (via Alexa). I can lock the door or ask for the status but can’t work out how to unlock the door. If I’d paid full price for this, I would have returned it because it is not good value for money.

If you struggle to get this align the lock will not work. Also the wrong app is indicated in the manual and it took time to figure out the app for countries outside of US. In the end I wasted my money as I Couldn’t use the lock on my storm proof door. The lock is sturdy.

Send me the faulty lock. Wasted my precious 3 hours.
