Very good product and price
Like the fact that can test different things with 1 device. No a lot of buttons or set up. Very Easy to use and the design of the display in an angle is also a plus.

The unit works well. Accuracy doubtful. Instructions vague.
The device is two degrees high on the ambient temperature. It shows my soil to be acidic and in some places the readout states Lo but this is not explained in the leaflet. The leaflet say the bottom RHS is degrees F/C/OFF. It doesn't turn the device OFF. It turns OFF after about 10 minutes inactivity. There is no mention of batteries in the listing for the S1 model however 4 AAA are required. It gave rapid response and differing readings around the garden so as a guide, a useful tool.

Quality at a reasonable price.
A really good product to ensure you don't over water those house plants, works well and does exactly what it needs to. Super easy to use :-)

A cheap digital device that may or may not be reliable.
I've only just tested now and it mostly seems fine enough except for one or two things. The pH values seemed to fluctuate a bit but I think it settled on what might be the correct reading. The temperature and moisture readings are together on separate screens to pH but the light levles are on both screens. I think it would make more sense if moisture readings was on the same screen as pH if not all the readings together on one screen, but I'm probably just nick picking there. And on top of all that the on button turns the thing on but it doesn't turn it off, instead you have to take a battery out and insert it back in. If that's not an indication of a really cheaply made device I don't know what is. But despite all of that it does seem to do the job. Although I did expect something for £15. If you can find something better for the price or are willing to spend more then get that. Otherwise might be decent enough but then it might also depend on the batch since the reviews on here say different things and no ones mentioned anything about the on button not being able to turn it off... Edit; it turns out to turn it off you have to hold both of the front buttons down together for what feels like a good 15 seconds or so... The meter does seem decent enough for testing soil dryness to tell you when to water the plants. For pH, if like analogue meters, apparently the soil needs to be wet first to take a proper reading... I'm not sure on the accuracy of the temperature readings but overall I'm actually happy with this meter so far. I'm not yet confident enough with it to score it more than 3/5 but at the same time it's not a bad little device.

Instructions not the best
We got this to measure the pH in our new garden to see what plants may be suitable. The instructions said to 'insert it into the ground and take a reading quickly'. That is not what to do... I did that initially, and it gave pH readings of around 9 - which is very alkaline. Looking at the plants in the garden, and the UK geological information for the area, it didn't seem that we had alkaline soil at all. Eventually we worked out that you needed to insert it into the ground and wait until the reading settled down - so, it would start at about 9, then drop over a few seconds until it steadied at around 6.5 or so, which matched all the other evidence. We didn't use the 'moisture', 'temperature' or 'light level' options, as those are pretty much obvious just with your own senses - touch and sight. Unfortunately the only pH sensor a human has is taste, which isn't that accurate and I didn't fancy eating the soil, so that's why we got the soil meter.

After using it for a few months, it stopped providing accurate readings. And the Soil moisture reading stuck at DRY+. Don't waste your money and time.
