Update: $38 more expensive than 1 month ago. Great mask, adjustable, huge heads beware
Update: love the respirator, got it for fine wood dust and it's great, but that was 1 month ago and the price has risen by at least $38, assuming due to Covid-19. I have gotten it to seat a bit better thanks to the many adjustment options which are great. Huge head people will struggle though and 3m says if that's the case you just have to get a forced air respirator. I have found that I use it a lot more than is strictly necessary which I think is an indicator of how good it is. Original: The seals are large and soft and very comfortable. The airflow keeps the area around your eyes cool and the exhaled air is down and there was no fogging. No issues at all with restricting vision. Like others said I wish I didn't waste money on two other masks and two different goggles, this full face seals so much better and is infinitely more comfortable. The others are now in a box and will probably only be used by friends and family if we're working together. Only issue is the L isn't quite big enough for people with big heads. I'm 6'4" 205 lbs but have a large head and while it seals ok it feels just a bit small and I wish they had an XL. Still, unless you have a truly gigantic head this will work and be the best option if you need a respirator and sealed eye protection.

You Cannot Put a Price on Safety plus Comfort! ____ This IS Worth Every Penny!!
My husband works in asbestos and other hazardous product removal and needed a better quality mask than the one provided at work. After hearing from a co-worker about his recommendation for this mask, we went ahead and purchased it from this seller. He could not have been happier with the purchase. The mask does not fog up and there is a specialized mouthpiece that allows the wearer to be easily heard unlike other masks, which is a huge perk when needing to communicate with others on a job. The mask also came with a product sample of a peel and stick face front cover made with scotch guard technology to protect the outer cover from being scratched. The pros of having the full-face cover is to further protect your face and eyes from being hurt by debris or other objects. My husband feels confident that he is safer around asbestos and other harmful materials at work with this mask. One of the best perks among the added safety is the comfort and secure fit of this mask. The headpiece and straps and comfortable and easily adjustable. My husband used to complain that his masks at work would cut into his skin and cause constriction, especially around the nose and mouth piece, but this mask eliminates that completely! Plus the face mask easily comes apart to clean. Though it was a little pricey, you honestly cannot put a price on your safety! If you want the confidence that you are not inhaling hazardous materials or fumes, the added safety of face and eye wear, to be heard while speaking, complete and clear visibility, and total comfort that is reusable and easy to clean... The 3M Ultimate FX Full Face Piece is worth every penny!!

It works. Period.
I am very happy that I purchased this full face respirator. I originally got it to do spray foam insulation, but find I use it for a variety of other tasks as well. Fitted with the correct filters (which are very easy to install), this mask does an amazing job when removing old, dirty, dusty blown-in attic insulation. The first time I wore it, I kept bumping the face shield as it was so clear and gave such a full field-of-view that I kept forgetting I had it on. The 6-point harness adjustments make it easy to fit and seal correctly. After months of use, it still works great. My lungs and eyes are much happier. I am glad I went with 3M, and I only use their filters. Yes, it will take some time to clean, as there are a lot of groves to wipe, but it is well worth it to keep it in top condition and comfortable to wear. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Best Full Face Respirator I have Tried
As a truck painter, I am required to use a full face respirator for large parts of the day. I wish I could use supplied air respirators when climbing underneath trucks to paint the chassis or over cabs, the extra hose hoses can be more of a hassle than it is worth. In the past I have used a few different full face respirators. For the last year I have been using a 3M 6800 series full face respirator. While it is effective at doing the job, it is not always the most comfortable to wear for extended periods. After reading the reviews and looking at the 3M web site, I decided to give the 3M Ultimate FX full face respirator a try. Wow I am sure glad I did. I cannot believe how much more comfortable the Ultimate FX is. The rubber part that seals the Ultimate FX around the face is very similar to 6800. While the redesigned head cradle and strap setup make a small difference, the biggest difference is in the noise piece. It just seems to be fit better the silicone material it is made of is way more comfortable than the harder rubber or whatever it is that is found in the 6800 noise piece. I can get a much better seal from the Ultimate FX noise piece with less pressure being transferred onto my face. At times I almost forget the noise piece is even there as it feels like it is barely touching my face even though I can visually see there is a good seal being made. In terms of sizing, I found the Ultimate FX to be sized similar to the 6800. Also the disposable shield covers for the 6800 will work on the Ultimate FX. The 6800 tear offs are slightly smaller than the Ultimate FX tear offs but it is close enough that I can at least use up my remaining 6800 tear offs. Pros + Comfortable + Doesn't fog up while being used Cons - None yet

This is the one - 3M knocked it out of the park with this respirator
Wow. How often these days do you buy a product that actually does everything it's supposed to? Not very freaking often! This respirator is one of those rare products. Was it cheap? No. Is it worth every damned penny I paid for it? Absolutely! I've used this unit for woodworking and metal grinding with N99 filters, painting and using nasty high VOC solvents with VOC cartridges, and working in my crawlspace with the N99s and a full Tyvek. It's just amazing all the time. Great seal and no leakage - ever (even if I haven't shaved in a couple of days). The design is fantastic, it fits great, is super comfortable for long periods, goes on without pinching skin or hair (it's truly a breeze!), and adjusts in seconds. It's easy to breathe with no noticeable restrictions or shortness of breath - even when performing somewhat strenuous activity while wearing it. Working in the crawlspace, I've been upside down and on my back - no issues at all. You can actually forget you are wearing it. This is the first one I've ever owned where that's been the case. But here is the "chef's kiss" with this thing: I've never fogged it up! Not once so far! In summary: don't waste money on crap PPE. If you need to protect yourself, get the right gear from the beginning. Buy quality and only cry once. This is the one.

Good mask, med size fits & bad packaging.
My biggest issue was which size to orde and there isn't much info on it. I'm about 6'1" 192 lbs average build. My heads on the larger side. My ball caps are adjusted on the 2/3 end of the back strap, if that helps. I don't have a wide nose or wide face but a little long maybe - just average all around. I got the medium mask, thinking it would be on the small side. What info I found said it fit 80-90% of people. It's awkward at first but then you realize it fits fine. The way it cups your chin is annoying, but necessary. I'm just used to half face respirators, that's all. Straps are great, they adjust fast. To get it off you release the bottom straps tilting the tabs upward and slide it up off your face. So far I haven't had any issue with my hair getting caught in it. The rubber doesn't grab, that's good. Head piece is comfortable. The nose cup doesn't sit flush to sides of my nose, kinda bummed on that. No fogging so far but only used in hot temps. It "really' needs a release valve at the bottom front so you can let accumulated sweat out. Like on a trumpet spit valave,- push valve open and blow. Not an easy mask to do a pressure check with. You have to put your finger nail behind the top of the nose guard, pull outward and slide up to remove. The 'gently' block the one way valve/flap in front with the soft part of your hand and blow out. This will tell you if its a good fit or not. Then (even with mask still on) slide the cover back on and click into place. I have long chops and a goatee. Which I have shaved 1/4"-1/2" long and the mask does really well getting a seal. Using the p100 pancake filters allows enough flow to be the path of least resistance. Dont be afraid to wear it firm to your face. Great range of view. Speaking diaphragm is so/so. The carrying bag is great for lining a small trash can and offers little protection for the helmet. Many similar ones come with a much needed case. A bag isn't going to do much if it's with you other equipment in a truck. It doesn't even fit properly or close up to keep dust etc out of the bag. It does come with one lens protector if you want to try it first/ Mine however did not. It wasn't even packaged at all. It was sent in the flimsy shelf stock box. They didn't even bother putting tape on the lid. It was obvious that it had been opened, losing the paperwork and extra lens protector. I know this because of the condition of the lid. My co-worker's have bought them before and they all came with it. 3M also answered an email saying they did. So thankfully I had a protector to use for it. Which cheats me out of about $6 because they are not cheap. I needed it asap or would've made a real stink about that level of sloppiness and returned it out of principle. It had a cover on the lens and that saved it from being damaged as it seem to have fallen out at some point. That much money for plastic and rubber, surely they can afford a piece of tape? A box would be nice as the postal service (to my knowledge) still provides them for free if you use their services - especially since the Postal Service is who delivered it to my mailbox directly.

This mask is better the the 6000 series in every way.
I have had multiple 3m 6000 full face respirators over the years they were great, comfortable enough, reasonably easy to clean and service and performed well. After my 2nd rebuild on my 2nd 6000 in 10 years and being lazy about putting lens protectors on it when I was spraying and grinding the lens was pretty well shot. I decided to "upgrade" to the FF-400 and was skeptical ... why is it 75$ more I asked... Well the FF-400 is at least 100$ better... probably more... It MUCH more comfortable fit wise Its cooler, I dont fill it with sweat and condensation... Its field of view is better Its breaths more easily It is better built from better more modern materials. I wouldn't upgrade just to upgrade from a serviceable 6000 series but if you are looking to rebuild your 6000 or upgrade from a worn out 6000 ... SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY and get a FF-400 series. The 6000 was great for its time but the FF-400 series is better in every way.

Comfortable
Comfortable fit, easy to put on and take off compared to the 3M 6000 series. No worries of breaking the straps like the 6000 series. Nice material inside the mask wearing it for hours at a time with no discomfort.
