Nothing is better than percolated coffee (yes, I’m old school). I was pleasantly surprised, but this coffee maker works very well. The coffee is ready in 10 to 15 minutes and the pot keeps it hot great product and highly recommended.

I’ve experimented with various coffee makers over the years, but I finally decided to go old school after my drip coffee maker only lasted two or three years at best. This coffee maker makes excellent coffee, and I much prefer it to anything I’ve had in the past. I love coffee, and I grind my own beans, so this one does an excellent job. It also has a retro look that I appreciate.

The percolator is clearly a thermal pot, so if your family drinks the coffee quickly (we two do) you may find unplugging the pot after the brew effective.As percolators do, this one brews quickly but can leave grounds and a weak cup of coffee... so since I love the hotter, stronger, speedier cuppa, with a bit of research, and trial and error, I used some burlap bags to hold my coffee grounds. Then, I saw something about setting up a cold brew, which I did, with these DISPOSABLE large coffee filter bags.So, each day, I'm using this filter bag twice...(https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09JYTDSL4?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details)The overnight cold brew sets up a wonderful brewed flavor to my liking, then I move the filter bag to the filter basket in the percolator, AFTER filling the coffee maker to a full twelve cups from the container I've made the cold brew in. The coffee is fast, hot, brewed to my taste, and free of grounds.

The best thing about a percolator is that the water must continue to go through the grinds until it reaches temperature. I know most of you like a drip coffee maker where the water passes through the grinds once.I have been drinking coffee since I was about 14. In 1972 when I joined the US NAVY I now only drink my coffee Black, sometimes with sugar sometimes without.When you have a percolator it leaves a wonderful smell.As the saying goes Try it You might like it.

I purchased this back in late 2013. after 14 months the coffee maker died! I tried to contact customer service and they have none!!!!! You have to text them, response time is horrible. They ask me for my name and address and don't throw away the broken one. They texted me back a couple of days later and said: The coffee pot has been discontinued. also they said the coffee pot was sold in july of 2023 (not true). i brought it in sept. 2023 and sent them a copy of the invoice, they said they didn't get it. I opened up the sent email and the attachment was in the email. They still said they didn't get it. I gave up. They truly didn't want to do anything for me. I will never buy a hamilton beech products again ever. We brought another brand. Hamilton Beech just doesn't CARE!!!

Unfortunately 2 weeks under 1 year of owning this what I thought was a great coffee maker. Updating on the unit. It's extremely weak coffee, suddenly it doesn't seem to finish the perk cycle without unplugging and waiting 10 minutes or more and starting it for a second perk. This is resulting in the same old thing that I experienced with all other coffee makers in the last years, they don't last. I'm very dissapointed in this for what it cost.This is a very good coffee maker! I've used drip makers for many years and none of them lasted over a couple years. I'm tired of spending money replacing those, every brand name and price range I've had and decided to dump the 'drip' world and go back to the REAL BREW!This is a quality coffee pot and for less $$ than the top name brand. Hamilton Beach has been around for many years, making different appliances and they are always dependable.BUY IT!

Bought this for work and for us coffee experts in our sewage treatment plant. We have a huge 3 burner diner style drip maker but it always burns our coffee. This percolator has an automatic shut off once the perc is done. It does keep the coffee piping hot after it ends the perc session. It definitely makes a better cup of coffee. Even our box store brands taste better with this pot. Its easy to prepare and easy to clean. We don't use filters so there is a bit of solids in the bottom but its nothing to bother you. We like it.

Just replaced my 5 yr old coffee maker with an identical one. Used at least once a day until 2 days ago when it just died. The quality of the new one is the same, the only difference is the pour spout, a little different in style/shape, no big deal. They did not skimp on the quality or weight from 5 yrs ago. The only cleaning tip I would mention is periodically you need to use a finger brush or old toothbrush to scrub the grooves in the bottom of the stainless steel basket that holds the grinds. The holes accumulate build up and affects the coffee flow. So happy they still sell this coffee maker, stays sleek and nice looking for years.
