OtterBox iPhone Xs AND iPhone X Defender Series Case - BLACK, rugged & durable, with port protection, includes holster clip kickstand

Great case, great price

The first thing I do when I buy a new phone is to purchase an OtterBox to protect it. The defender is my OtterBox of choice because it protects from drops yet slides easily in and out of my pocket. There is no screen cover on this OtterBox, which is great because I always tear mine off of the older models. Screens are pretty scratch-resistant now and don't need covers. Plus, the slightest amount of dust or debris will distract me forever, and it's easier to clean the phone without the screen cover. So I'm glad they abandoned it in this model. To really protect the phone, use the hard screen cover case that comes with the belt clip/viewing stand. Also, the screen is protected by the case on the front side because the lip protrudes from the screen a fair distance. If you dropped your phone pavement, the screen likely wouldn't come into contact with the ground because the lip sticks out far enough. Overall, I would recommend this OtterBox Defender to anyone who has an iPhone (note that this model is for the X only, but they make cases for all iPhone models). The OtterBox is the perfect phone case for my husband. He tends to be rough and often drops his phone, so this case is sturdy enough to protect it from any damage.

The directions for putting the case on were seriously lacking (just doodled pictures with no explanation), but a YouTube video was very helpful! Sometimes I pop the outer shell on (part with the belt clip) to make my phone easier to hold. The clip swivels around. It’s easy to take that part on and pull it off. At first I was worried about how the little “door” presses against the charger (long term, pressure on the charger seems like a really bad idea for the charge port. Nothing is worse than a device you have to perform voodoo on --wiggling, moving around, propping it at an angle— to get the charger to connect). I was *so close* to just cutting the door off, but, almost 3 weeks in, I’m less concerned. It is much bulkier than my husband’s symmetry case. I don’t stick mine in my pocket, so the size is no big deal to me. Overall, this is a great case, and it’s worth buying for the peace of mind, knowing my $1000 phone is protected!

This product is bulky, but it’s because it’s so protective of the phone. Anytime I get a small ship in the inner hard plastic side, which eventually happens because I dropped my phone a lot, I know I need to replace it with another Otterbox. But once I do, I knowmy phone iscompletely safe again. I hate having the interruption of having to buy a new phone in the middle of workday. I need my phone to work all the time and this ensures that that happens. Just be aware that when you see a chip in the plastic, you do need to replace it. This is because it has taken a bullet for your phone. And now you need new armor. That is normal, so don’t blame the product if you keep a chipped, Broken OtterBox case, and your phone breaks after that. I had to learn this over time.
