A bit on the small side, but a nice cheese container.
First off, I had no idea storing cheese was so complicated. I'm trying to use fewer plastic storage bags, so I started the journey of finding a good way to store cheese. I don't buy fancy cheeses at all, just regular blocks of cheddar from the supermarket. I cut up the blocks for handy snacking and need a container to store them in. I tried several different types, all with their own pitfalls. Plastic bags are wasteful and the cheese tends to get mushy. I tried a Rubbermaid Brilliance container (which are awesome) but moisture accumulated and the cheese molded. So I did some research and came across these containers. I bought two - one white for my sharp white cheddar and one yellow for my sharp yellow cheddar. I know, clever right??? These containers are a bit on the small side, but a 16 oz/1 lb block of cheese fits in just fine. The lids fit snugly but don't seal, which is the point with storing cheese (as I have so recently learned). These containers are easy to clean and are compact enough that they fit in the crisper drawer or in the shelves in the door. So far, I haven't had any mold issues and the sliced cheese hasn't dried out. These are pretty expensive, especially if you aren't into fancy cheese. But they seem to do the trick of keeping sliced cheese fresh for an extended period of time. In that respect, they are doing what I purchased them for - I just think the price is a bit on the high side. That being said, depending on your circumstances this is a pretty good item.

Cheese box
Nice cheese box to store an open package of cheese. Two sections inside the box and it seals the box when closed. Keeps longer than in foil or plastic zip bags.

Awesome Idea, Not Implemented Well
This is an AWESOME product! I have not had any cheese go bad in it. The reason for my 4 star overall rating is simply because it is NOT big enough. I would buy ten of these if they were in a more practical sizee for a family of 4. Busy households use a lot of sliced cheese for sandwiches. Kids don't want to bother trying to cut a thin slice off a block of cheese. So, for example, round slices of cheese (I buy Provolone) do not fit in the box. The box is not high enough to stand the stack of slices on it's edge, and the box is not wide enough to lay the stack of slices flat! I buy my Asiago cheese in a large wedge at Sam's Club, We are an Italian household, eat a lot of high quality cheeses. No matter how I cut the large wedge of cheese it does not all fit in the vault. The cheese is to long and to wide for the box even when you cut the wedge in half. You don't want to cut the wedge any smaller, or you won't have a nice slice to put on a cracker or to put onto an appetizer cheese platter. I gave the cheese vault an honest rating of 3 stars for Value for Money. It is $35.00, that is a lot of money for an item that only holds those small wedges of parmesan or romano cheese that you find in any grocery store in the packaged refrigeration section . If you buy a big chunk of those cheese in the deli, the wedges are two large to put in the vault. So, to put it all in a nut shell, for $34 I would expect the vault be be at lease double in size in both length and width. and at least another 2: taller. The product keeps the cheeses that do fit, which is not many, beautiful, the cheese does not get dried out or to wet for it to turn moldy. The manufacturer had a great idea for keeping cheese, the idea was not implemented well. If they make the cheese box a more practical size, they would sell a lot more of them which also would bring their price point down. I really hate the fact that I cannot give such a great idea a more stellar review. I would not recommend this or give it as a gift, unless I knew that the person who would be using it could use if for more than a small wedge of commercially packaged cheese. It does not hold commercially packed sliced cheese other than Kraft American Cheese type slices. To the manufacturer: please use this review to redesign the size of your cheese box. You had an awesome idea for preserving cheese, it just is not the right size for the average American family.

Doesn't work
Not sure if I have a defective unit or what, but it simply doesn't work. I've tried it with three semi-hard cheeses now and all 3 started to mold 7-10 days later. In a ziplock bag or normal tupperware container, those cheeses routinely last 30+ days. I suspect this is because the lid doesn't fit quite right - because the vault is made of flexible, rather than firm, silicone it isn't *perfectly perfectly* rectangular, leaving the tiniest little gap between the lid and the body of the vault. I had high hopes for this product - even if it hadn't extended the life of my cheeses beyond what I would get from a ziplock bag I would at least be reducing the amount of single-use plastic I'm using to store my cheeses, but the fact that they mold in less than half the time they would in a bag unfortunately makes this vault useless. I hate writing negative reviews, but when something so completely fails to do what it is supposed to do I feel obligated to spread the word. Save your money and just buy some more tupperware.

Not a vault
The devider doesn't quite fit in the small slots so it falls over and the top is not snug like one would think. I am giving 3 stars because the rubbery plastic is pleasing, even though the sides bow out, and I am just starting to test it to see if it will keep my cheese better than a zip lock bag.

Best way to store cheese
Bought two. Keeps my parm and Romano cheese fresh. Been over a month and they are still good. Also great for cheddar and American slices.

Attractive rectangular box in nice touch material, the exact fit of the lid pleasing. Seems so far to keep cheese fresh and moist. Would recommend.

honestly, the cheeses stay fresh and in great condition. I've had my vault for a few weeks now and I've tried a few different cheeses in there - they all sit happily in there (couple of different cheddar cheeses, some camembert and a pecorino with truffle). I don't have to use baking paper to wrapt them and I haven't had to trim off any mouldy parts either. I might get a second one because I box won't fit all the cheeses at once. I do wish that Amazon would sell the spare dividers in their range.

Fit the purpose, keeps the cheese fresh. Just one divider, would have been great if at least 2.

It definitely works. That's a big plus. the downside is that it (this version) is too small for my needs. You won't get much more than two small cuts of cheese in the safe. A size or two up (maybe half a standard shoebox) would be perfect.

We love cheese and we make cheese so this is a real value for us. I can't believe I didn't know about this. Keeps cheese fresh for a long time and you can put two different types in the vault without ruining the flavor of the cheeses. This make a great gift.
