I don't know. Expectation perhaps? I expect it to come out as hot as it went in if its only 7 hours later. It went in boiling and came out just warm so I had warm soup instead of very hot. My thermos flask for liquids set the standard I expect in all my flasks. My takeaway would be stick to thermos for superior heat retention.
