Not what I thought It would taste like

We gave this a try because we were making plumb wine mixers. They turned out great! The jam is different and fun, has a zip. Wish this came in a larger size, definitely worth trying if you enjoy an exotic preserve.

Disgusting. Outdates in two weeks. Looks brown and bubbly. Something is wrong.

This plum jam is so so good! It’s tart and not overly sweet and has this distinct flavor of japanese plums. Jams and preserves are usually too sweet for my taste, so I’m really happy I ordered this product.The only negative thing is: The jars are soo tiny...I would love to eat more, but can’t really afford it. I only eat it as a special treat.I can see why it has a higher price though. It’s made at a smaller farm in Japan, with probably higher production costs. Shipping can’t be cheap either.I would love to try their other products!EDIT: I just saw that the price decreased significantly since I wrote the review. Now I’ll be able to get it again!

Ridiculous price, no outstanding flavor.

The ume plum or Japanese apricot is very popular in Asia, but its flavor is rare in the US. This is a great loss. The combination of sour/sweet plum flavor is unique. I love to eat dried ume plums or juice made from them in Taiwan. You can only see them in Asian food markets. This jam perfectly captures the delicious ume flavor. It is great on toast, pancakes or waffles.
