Cue is nicely finished and balanced, feels like the claimed 23oz. is about right. On to the tip: be prepared to replace it unless you use NO English on your break. The contact are of the tip is small due to it being finished down so far that the ferrule is clearly visible all around the leather when you look from the front. If you break hiting strictly center of the cue ball this may work OK - me, I like to put some top on the cue ball (okay, a LOT of top on the cue ball) and I suspect I will try using this, miscue repeatedly, put a full sized hard leather tip on it, and use it 'as modified' with no further problem. I would not think this should be a necessary step with a new cue, though.

Just a quality breaking que. Great fit and finish. 23oz is good for breaking. I don't see them available last time I checked, but if you can find one, buy it. Mine was $48 for the red and black one and glad I took a chance. Solid stainless steel joint, very sturdy.

I bought this as a gift for my son and he really likes it

this cue is a great cue if your goal is to explode racks. it is comparable with the rage cue. it is has a big mass which helps players with light breaks. feel and control is adequate but not great. although i had fun exploding racks i traded this cue and bought a jump break that was lighter and wood to wood joint.

Had it out to try today and the breaks I executed were a significane improvement over the house cues I used in the past. Well worth the cost.

Several reviewers mention a leather tip; perhaps the mfg changed the product recently.Mine arrived, May 2019, as pictured on Amazon, with a long, hard, phenolic resin tip. It is a great break cue. Since the energy imparted to the cue ball is proportional to the square of the velocity, many younger players might benefit from a lighter break cue, allowing them to accelerate to a higher velocity when striking the cue ball. Incidentally, if you have never tried breaking with a light weight cue, find a 15oz house cue with a hard tip, chalk it a bit, and try it; you might be pleasantly surprised.

Went together well and has very good balance for a heavier stick. Tip will need a lot of work or replacement but that's not unusual. Overall good stick for the money.

It breaks ball perfect

It has a very slow connecting screw system. Wrists get a good workout while assembling and disassembling using the very time-consuming connection system. They could have used the quick-connect hardware that is readily available.

Very comfortable and effective break cue. Tip is very hard, weight is good, balance is good. The black is very deep and looks elegant.
