Paints were dried out in original kit, but National Geographic went above and beyond and sent replacement paint very quickly! Very fun project that helps kids become more familiar with the planets.

Paints in the kit where dried out. My son got this as a gift for Valentine's Day. Very disappointed with the paints. Update, we received addition paint and a new kit. Kid was happy.

I ordered this to do with my first-grader. We are a homeschool family. I used this as an intro to a science unit on planets. It was fun reading about each planet. I really liked that it has instructions on colors to paint each planet. As a parent and teacher, having tips provided for how to color the planets and make them look most realistic really helped make this project a success! I took off one star because of its mobile feature; the string provided to hang planets is hair-thin and therefore hard to work with. The instructions for how to do it are confusing as well. We decided to hang planets w/ included suction-cups instead, which stuck well to white-board.

We had 2 very excited kids only to realize that the paints were completely dried up and unusable. We decided not to return because my kids still wanted to use them just with normal paint. Would buy a different set next time.

It was a learning about planets and our solar system in a fun, crafty way. Held her attention and very age appropriate. Even grandma liked it

The National Geographic kits for children are fantastic and funtastic. Great way to expose children to science, even at a very early age with adult supervision.

This was for my 10-year-olds Solar System project at school. We were excited that it was supposed to glow in the dark to give a extra wow effect. Unfortunately, it didn't happen even though I put them in sunlight. Maybe bad paint. The colors were really nice and the whole project came together great. The planets other than Earth, were smaller than I expected but when finished they looked great. Next time I'll buy one in person rather than online.

Ordered this item for my Granddaughter for Xmas and I was very disappointed with the quality of the item. The round disc for holding the Solar system up is made of cardboard and the planets are plastic. The paints do not cover and need many coats to be effective. The price paid for the item, and considering it has the label of National Geographic, it should be made of better quality material than it is. I am very disappointed.
