Starts off measuring as stretched chain. But nice chain to extend service on old cog sets.
The fact that both of these chains I have purchased in the last year started off measuring stretched is telling me that might be a feature of this chain. The good news on that, is that if you are putting this on an old cog set, you will get less of that new chain on old cogs grinding issue. However, there is no way you could go to a normal chain after this on the same cogs. I did get another one of these chains for the same old cog set and then I had the normal new chain grinding, but livable. That is going away now after about 20 hours of riding.I replaced the first chain after maybe 300-500 hours of riding (I do not log my rides). I replaced it because it was so stretched that my chain gage could not even measure it. However it was still working fine and looked good. I am not sure if these chains are stretching any faster than other chains. That would require tighter controlled testing than I am willing to devote to this and other measuring technics.I really like the color of these chains and I get mostly good comments on the color except from my ultra conservative friends that would not be caught with rainbow looking colors. These chains seem to clean up really well and hold their color. Goes really well with my red front chainring and my black and red rear cog set. I do not consider myself a fashion oriented person, but I must admit that I like this look better than a dingy dull chain. You also know when it is clean/dirty better.Oh, and this this latest purchase It also came with several extra quick connect links and a really nice tool for connecting them. This is a huge bonus that I am very happy with.I however would not put this chain on a new cog set. I will use it when the cog sets are more worn. I will order this again, but will measure it. If for some reason they fix the length/spacing issue or give choices on the "pre-stretch" I will take that into consideration. I think it would be a great idea to offer chains in different stretch spacing to integrate better with old cog sets. Cog sets can be extremely expensive and that could give longer life to an old set.

Liked the chain
After changing chains for the last 40 years a this chain company sent us the tool that makes it a lot easier and 3 extra links. The chains super quiet and a great value.

Be careful when changing links with a chain tool.
Not sure if it is frowned upon to add links with a chain tool on this chain but here is my experience. I removed a few links when installing and then decided I wanted to add two links back. I pushed the pin back in with my chain tool and thought it was centered pretty good. When test riding and starting from a stop in a high gear the pin broke along the raised edge of the indented area (an O shaped break) and the link separated. It bent up a spoke and chain hanger. I got it all fixed and threw in another masterlink to get it operational. I ended up buying another chain as I did not have trust in this one and the damage was pretty traumatic!

First chain I snapped
I put the chain on with a new 8-speed rear derailleur and shifter. Immediately, I noticed phantom shifting in 7th gear. I indexed the rear derailleur many times trying to fix the issue, but even when I could shift through all of my gears flawlessly I experienced phantom shifting in higher gears. I brought the bike to REI and they indexed it, still didn't fix the issue. The other day, while riding pretty mildly, the chain snapped on me (not at the master link). This made me suspect the chain was at fault, so I put the one that came with my bike back on. Now it works with no issue. It's possible the phantom shifting was because of my choice of derailleur (shimano RD-TX800)/shifter (Sl-M310 3x8 Speed 24S Shifter from DMAIP). Also, I got my bike on facebook marketplace and it's possible the derailleur hanger is slightly bent. But neither I nor REI bike mechanics saw anything wrong/bent with my setup.I checked the reviews before I bought this product and saw many people have had good experiences with it. Maybe I just got unlucky, but the phantom shifting + easy snapping makes this chain pretty much unusable for me.

So far so good, it looks beautiful, I will install it and update
The media could not be loaded. So far I don't see anything wrong with this one, looks like a nice replacement for a regular chain, it is not the quality of an expensive SRAM chain but for the price it looks fine and as long as you're not expecting high performance you'll be ok.It doesn't come covered in a thick lube like most chains I've worked with so you'll need lube right out of the box, I'd recommend a dry lube so it stays clean and nice as it is now.

Does not come with the tool as advertised
This product is advertised to come with a tool ... There's no tool just the chain. Very unprofessional
