VERY pleased - will use for homeschooling
I am VERY pleased. I had pretty low expectations coming into this purchase. I expected a watered down low level book for preschoolers - but that is NOT what this book is. This book essentially could serve as basic theology curriculum for elementary school kids (I estimate ages 5+ depending on their literacy skills. You can rephrase some words to make the material accessible to younger learners). This book would also work as a family or individual devotional for older kids and adults. The short readings or questions really pack a punch (and I do mean short - only a portion of a page at a time in a book that is 5x7 inches in size). This book is designed to be read every day of the year AND then some more into the following year. If you really want your children to learn this stuff - you may even want to re-read it for a few years in a row. Personally, I intend to read this book at the start of each homeschooling day so that we start on a more godly/Christian focus before getting in regular assignments.I have NOT read every single page in the book yet, so I cannot do a full analysis of the theology, but so far - I don't see any issues. The gospel message of being slaves to sin then saved by grace through Jesus is pretty clear. The book touches on the gospel message, attributes of God, virtues (like fruit of the spirit / character traits / spiritual gifts), Jesus' life, christian fellowship/church, prayers, Biblical promises, purpose of the Bible, devotions on the psalms, etc. I also meticulously read the promises section to ensure that the author was not making any false claims... and I found only truth (and challenging truth at that). One of the promises included was that Jesus promised us strife/suffering in life, but that God would always be with us (wow that is pretty honest and real especially for a children's book!).Overall, the images might be a deterrent to older children, but the content works for all ages. I question this book's appropriateness for preschool kids, but I could see some rephrasing or replacing words while reading aloud could enable them to access the content as well.I loved the book so much I bought multiple copies my relatives.

Have not used it in the way I intended....it's not exactly what I expected, so I'll have to study it out further.
