OtterBox Commuter Series

I bought this case as an alternative option to another case I had purchased for my new Galaxy Note 8. The first case was very smooth and protective, but I found it to be a little too slippery to hold. Based on my good experiences with OtterBox for my previous phone, I decided to give the Commuter Series a try. The case was delivered very quickly, which was a nice plus. The case was easy to put on the phone and so far, it has been wonderful! It is protective and adds a good weight to the phone, without adding additional bulk. The color is a pretty soft pink and I also enjoy the rubberized sides, which gives the phone a little extra grip, so it won't fall from your hand easily. I have dropped my phone a few times, once from my hand and it hit the floor of a store I was shopping in. The phone was fine, no scratches and the case remained in tact. I also have a screen glass protector on my phone, which helps greatly. Overall, this is a great case and I would recommend it!

It was easy to put on/take off. Has built-in port dust covers - more on that in a bit. What I like: Seems sturdy and well made as I've seen with other people's cases by Otterbox. (This is my first Otterbox product). What I'm not sure about yet: How long it will last - seems sturdy but the previous cases I've had by Speck also seemed sturdy but fell apart after about 12 months of use. How I like the dust port covers. They are nice for keeping lint/crud etc out of the ports... but... they are kind of a pain in the butt to move far enough out of the way to plug the charger or headphones in. Not the end of the world, and the benefit probably outweighs the negative... but still. Maybe just a little more flexibility in them would help.

Love this case! I was worried about how it would fit due to the mixed reviews I read, but mine fits perfectly. Its secure all the way around and fits like all my previous Otterbox cases. I'm happy to report it fits well with my Whitestone Dome tempered glass! At first I was afraid it'd push the glass up around the edges, but I was able to gently lift the rubber edges up over the glass for a perfect fit. Very happy with this purchase. Well worth the price for me!

Liked that this protects your phone without making it too bulky. It's very sturdy and easy to hold. The only dislike is that there is a flap that covers the charger portal, which I realize is protection. However, it might be a little inconvenient when going to charge. Overall, it is a great product.

PROS: The case is not bulky therefore if fits perfectly in my pockets. Also, i have dropped my phone several times and the case protected the phone as advertised. Great product. CONS: While this case can be used with a magnetic car holder mount, the metal plate used to attach the phone to the mount (placed on the phone or on case) will prevent the phone from wireless charging. It's best to have a car mount that grips the phone instead. Also, the outter case alone sheilds the phone to the degree that charging the phone wirelessly in a semi-vertical position (like on a slanted wireless charging stand/dock) is difficult to do. Without the case, placing the phone on a wireless dock in any position will charge your phone just fine, but with the case on it is a challenge in a semi-vertical position - in this position you must slide the device either left or right on the dock until the dock properly recognizes and connects wirelessly to your phone. Shielding of this kind is way too much protection. Bottom line - Great Case.

It's beautiful and rough, I am sure this will help a lot in keeping the phone from any damage no matter the fall or accident! Also it is brand new, even has the plastic wrap it originally comes in! Thank you a lot for being honest and selling a really good product at a really good price!

This is my 3rd OtterBox Commuter series case and can't say enough good things about it. I had one on my Galaxy S4, S6 and now my Note 8. It fits well, the buttons line up and the case is very durable. Best part is it actually protects the phone when dropped! The Commuter for my note 8 is not bulky and slips into my pocket easily. I like the dust covers that protect the charging and ear jack ports which I rarely use because I have wireless earbuds and a wireless charger. I'm using the Pleson Fast wireless charger and it works with the case on. I tried the slimmer OtterBox Symmetry series case but don't waste your time with it. It doesn't offer 2 layer protection, the buttons don't line up and the case fits loosely. Go with the Commuter series.

So far this has been a great case. After cracking the corner of my phone from using a slim case, I have finally decided to get my first otterbox. I have to say that this version is not as bulky as some others that I have seen and I like the hard plastic add on, on the back. The black case looks good with the phone and it feel good in the had without adding too much weight or bulk. I will be getting the series for future phones for sure!

The case feels sturdy in hand and cutout for camera is just deep enough to prevent contact with table top. The sides provides a decent bumper edge around the curved screen as well.

I had to look for a long time before finding a case like this for my Galaxy Note 8. The exact outer hard-shell material of this case is something I needed specifically to attach a 3rd party adapter (quad lock). I love this case because it protects my phone from any accidental drops (which happens more often than you expect when you have kids, an active lifestyle, etc.), and also fits in my pocket even though it is beefier than a regular phone skin case. Putting the case on the phone and taking it off is also a breeze: Put on the soft rubber on the phone first, then snap on the hard outer shell. Done! As you can see in the pictures, I have a 3rd party adapter added on so I can attach and detach my phone to a quad-lock system on my bike and running arm-band. I trust this case to protect my phone when on runs, hikes, bike rides, and when my kids are playing with the phone. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a case that will do the job of protecting their expensive phones, but also be easy to handle. The single drawback I would say is that the 4 corners with the exposed rubber of the case can have quite a bit of friction, which is good overall, but a little annoying when putting the phone in pockets and such. This is a minor issue for me, so I give this 5 stars!
