Fantastic Roof Rack! Simple to Assemble and Well Built
I have wanted a rack for the top of my Jeep for some time now and necessity being the mother of Amazon purchases: I ordered and just received my WILDROAD Roof Rack Cargo Basket, Upgraded 4” Fence Car Roof Basket with Extension, 64"x 39"x 4" version today, and I couldn’t be more impressed! The entire experience, from unboxing to assembly, was a breeze. It took me only about ten minutes to put the rack together, and everything fit together seamlessly; I laid out the four sections, brought the middle section together with an effortless fit. Then brought the front and the rear sections to the middle section - no effort, no forced alignment - it simply all fit together. The holes lined up perfectly, and the supplied screws were more than enough—one extra included, which is always a nice touch. The assembly process was incredibly straightforward and could easily be completed by one person in under 15 minutes. Because there was no struggle with fitting parts or needing any adjustments, it was a hassle-free experience. I have to admit, I didn’t take any photos of the assembly because it went together so quickly that I didn’t even think to grab my camera before I was finished!Once assembled, the rack looks amazing—streamlined, sturdy, and sleek. It’s a solid, well-built piece of equipment that feels like it’ll stand the test of time, and it really adds a great look to my vehicle. When it stops snowing I'll see about a picture of it on the Jeep.A quick note on the scuffs mentioned in other reviews: Yes, there were some very minor scuffs on mine as well, but they do not expose any bare metal, and most of them came off with just a quick wipe from a cloth. These types of marks are typical with shipping and handling, and I honestly don’t think they detract from the overall quality of the product. If you’re expecting perfect cosmetic condition, you might be disappointed, but if you’re after a well-built, functional, and great-looking rack, you won’t regret it.In summary, I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase. The WILDROAD Roof Rack is easy to assemble, looks fantastic, and is clearly built to last. Thank you WILDROAD for making my roads a little less wild. (Okay I'm sorry.. it was just there... I digress) Five Stars Plus! Highly recommended!

Worked exactly how I needed it
This worked great for my trip from NH to NC.I paired the rack with brightlines crossbars (bought on Amazon as well), which were recommended for my model of car many times in a forum I’m in. I measured the top of my car/cross bar trackings and went with the 64”, which was the perfect size for a 2019 grand cherokee.I put the rack together on my own, had a friend assist me in getting the rack on top of my grand cherokee, and tightened all the brackets on my own. Instructions were clear and I felt confident in doing everything on my own (5’6” female). I drove around with it for a few days before my trip and felt it was secure and it was not noisy. Even with the bag on, it was not super noisy. As far as the bag: it was easy to install, zip, and hook all the straps to the rack. The back straps proved to be a little harder, only because I didn’t have a step stool and stood on the back bumper which isn’t super safe. I felt it was secure with the straps that attach to the bag, but added an extra ratchet strap for the second half of my drive since the highway speeds would be higher. I tucked the excess side straps in my doors but every now and then they would flap in the wind and make noise (just annoying) so next time I’ll tie/tuck them under the bag. It rained for the last half of my drive (8 hours) and everything inside stayed dry! It held A LOT and probably could’ve held more vertically, but some of duffle bags were very full and heavy and I didn’t want to go over the weight limit.I definitely recommend the whole set up - rack and bag. I originally was going to get a roof bag without a rack, but this gave me much more peace of mind that my stuff wasn’t going to fly off my car, and was super easy to build and install.

Usable With Modifications
I purchased this months before going on a family road trip, we weren't going far, only about 7 hours away, but judging by the reviews I knew this thing would need some testing and prep before putting it in operation. Firstly, I followed the advice of another customer and coated it 2 cans of clear Rust-Oleum. I also applied blue Loctite to all structural screws while putting it together. I drove on the freeway with the air dampening plates on and off and didn't notice a difference in sound, it still produces the same light whistle whether they were on or off. Our vhecile is a 2021 Toyota Highlander Platinum Hybrid, the cage itself "fits," but with the back two plastic mounts had to be secured across 1 cage pole instead of 2 like the front, which was concerning because clearly the plastic mounts are supposed to snap onto the cage poles. I had the idea to swing by Harbor Freight and buy 4 of their $4 1000lb 10' ratchet straps to add some extra security, also because another review showed photos on the luggage bag tearing at clips straps, and I figured this would alleviate the stress on those points. I really wish this kit would just include some ratchet straps instead of a dozens of random little clips and no instructions on how to use them. I assume these and the mat are to be utilized with the net for lighter loads like folding chairs or fishing gear, but I honestly will likely never use any of this stuff. It takes time to get everything installed and loaded. I folded up 4 Pig Mats are duct taped them over the mounting bolts to prevent them from puncturing the bag. The adjustment straps on the bag are a hassle to tighten or loosen, but once I finally got this all situated and the luggage loaded in the bag I crossed 2 ratchet straps over the front and back vehicle mounting bars, over the entire cage itself, and luggage. I rolled up and strap/clip slack and tied them up with zip-ties. Everything was rock solid, however once we got on the freeway it was clear I didn't crank on the front ratchet straps enough because they were vibrating from the wind and it sounded like a hornet through a megaphone. Tightening those up took care of it, and they were silent until we exceeded 85mph. We hit rain, and it lasted about 5 hours through the first ride to our destination. The luggage was bone dry once I took it out of the bag, so that was impressive. On the trip back I figured I could get away with only using 1 ratchet strap on the front and back mounting bars but quickly learned that was a bad idea because I was getting excessive noise at only 70mph. I cranked on the ratchet straps excessively and it ended up crushing my suitcases and actually bent one of the poles on the cage. I ended up adding the other straps at a rest area and the noise was eliminated. Overall, this is a very usable luggage cage, but it takes a little elbow grease to make it completely safe and durable. It also takes quite sometime to load and unload, and loading this up in 110° heat before heading home was not fun at all. Even with the bent bar on the cage I will still get years of use out of this, but I hope my experience makes someone else's trip easier.
