Clairol Color Crave Semi-Permanent Hair Dye, Rose Gold Hair Color, 1 Count

I loved this. However, 1- for better color closer to the box front, pre-lighten hair to light blond. They aren’t trying to sell you a bleach kit, they truly are trying to help you get the colour you see on the box as vibrant as possible. 2- to get the box colour that lasts much longer use on dry hair (the boxes have an printing error that says towel dried but it needs to be dry dry) no more than 24 hours out from a wash but no styling products in it. Leave it on for an hour instead of 20 minutes. This won’t fry your hair like regular dye as it has none of the chemicals that permanent dye does. If you want an ombré effect apply to the roots and bring it down a bit. After 20 minutes put some on the roots again and use a hair brush or comb (tighter bristled) and comb stopping about 2 or 3 inches from ends of hair. Then, 20 minutes later repeat combing through to ends. (Option 2) You can dilute a bit with any conditioner and comb through middle of hair then dilute more to comb through ends without the 20 minute waiting and leave on for an hour which will produce an ombré effect also. I’ve also used it on my roots after colouring with their light pink to give a cool shadow root effect which helps cover any regrowth of roots allowing you to go longer between lightening.

I did like it, but it was much darker than I expected- somewhere between fuschia and maroon. The bulk of the color slowly washed out over a couple of weeks (I wash my hair 2X a week so I expected it to last longer and was a little sad it didn't). However, a couple months later you can still see a hint of pink when I am in the sun (mostly on my white/grey hairs). Disclaimer- I have very light brown/dark blonde hair with natural white highlights :) and did not bleach it first. That might have affected the final color some. I'd give it 3.5 stars since it didn't last as long as advertised and the color isn't really appropriately named. I'm rounding it up to 4 stars because I did not bleach my hair and it did indicate on the package that that would affect the final color.

I used this to streak the grey in my hair as I grow out the grey. I wanted to add some color because I am so tired of the demarcation line in my shoulder length hair. it was rather messy, but what home hair color is not? It has lasted for many shampoos. My only complaint is the color was not quite what I expected, much more pink, however I am happy with it. I went for more of a streaked look than total coverage of the grey.

My hair is between a dark blonde & light brown with lots of silvery-gray sprinkled in on top. I was looking for something to add some fun to my color but not be too crazy in case I get called back to the office soon (currently remote due to Covid-19). I used about half the tube, maybe a little more all over my hair and waited the 20 min. I just wiped off a couple spots i got on my forehead with a damp rag when i was done applying. I found it easier to just squirt into my gloved hand and rub around vs. fighting with the small brush but brush would be helpful if you weren't doing all-over color. I will likely get a 2nd application out of my tube as well. Very cost effective, will update with how long it lasts. Included my before & after, both in natural lighting (used the Rose Gold color). I will definitely buy again & may try a few of the other shades as well for variety!

This product (in rose gold, at least) does not last for 15 washes; it is all but gone by your second wash. A shame, because the shade is really quite nice when first applied. I used half a tube the first purchase, and a whole tube the second, with the same results. Not feasible for me to pay $4 per wash for this color.

I left on for 30 mins and all the color rinsed out. My hair holds color very well. L’Oréal colorista lasts me for 2 months. Won’t buy this brand again.

I love having rose gold in my strawberry blonde hair. I'm seeing my hair grow in white, as we redheads are apt to do, and while I'm not at all worried about this aspect of aging, I've decided having rose gold hair is fun and just subtle enough to still be professional-ish for seeing clients.I applied this to my hair 3 weeks ago and I can still see the rose gold pretty well in the white hair, something that overtone stops doing in just a week or less. I'm happy and certainly keeping this on hand for more.

The color on the box led me to believe that it would be strawberry blond. It’s more of a watermelon in front strawberry in the back. Up front, around my face it’s pink.Apparently it’s for highlights but the picture of the person on the box had a uniform hair color. I hope this washes out as well as the rose gold product I used before. I’m super hoping to be a bridesmaid and wouldn’t have even tempted fate if I’d known my best friend’s boyfriend was finally going to pop the question.I will just wash everyday instead of everyday and hope for the best. Was not looking for pink. Totally going to get a few different colors of this and do a rainbow highlight low light thing though. It’s pretty cool. Just didn’t understand what I was buying. Where was this stuff when I would have rocked this look?Okay so I have no pictures close up of when it was pink around my face. It still has a pink hue about it and sorry for the lighting and the fact that my hair was braided all day. It seems to have calmed down. Still probably going to go back to the one I used first if I don’t just let it do what it’s going to do. The real test after all is if roots grow .
