This is my first air purifier purchase. I have four animals in my home and dust tends to gather rather quickly on surfaces. Since having this purifier for a few weeks, I have noticed a significant decrease in the amount of dust in the air and the animal smells have all but vanished. I can visibly see the air quality go down on the unit when I'm cooking and within the hour it returns back to 100 so I'd say it's doing its job! I keep it on auto mode, and when the air quality drops, the fan speed will increase, and it is slightly loud, but the better the air quality gets, the fan level decreases so the louder fan doesn't usually last long.

I am writing an unsolicited review (haven't been paid to do so and I rarely write reviews). This air purifier is legit. It's super quiet and removes air pollutants quickly. My wife and I put it in our bedroom after suffering from seasonal allergies and immediately noticed a difference every morning.Something as slight as knocking the dust off of curtains, the Shark recognizes the air quality (% value) and ramps up. Makes the room smell clean and definitely helps with morning stuffiness. Worth every penny. Haven't owned it long enough to perform maintenance but it appears simple.We also purchased a humidifier/vaporizer for our bedroom and it's a perfect combination to eliminate pollutants and negate the symptoms of dry air.

I’m not one to typically leave product reviews, but I want everyone to know how awesome this air purifier is! I have two dogs, two cats, and a teenager with enough hair to cover 3 bald men’s heads. Trying to keep up with the dust and shedding was a near impossible task until I got this air purifier. I had another cheaper brand of purifier, but it never really worked that great. And given the “hairy” situation in my home, I was burning through filters like mad. When our puppy chewed through the (thankfully unplugged) cord for it, I was in the market for a new one. I did lots of research before I decided on this Shark brand, but I already owned a Shark vacuum and absolutely loved it, so I knew it was a reputable brand. I was a little hesitant because of the price tag, but after reading all the positive reviews, I decided to go for it. This thing is beyond awesome! The amount of dust, hair, and even smells have dropped significantly with this air purifier. Before I got it, I would have to dry mop and run my robot vacuum almost daily to keep the dust at a tolerable level. My husband and I would wake up so stuffed up every morning it was unreal and my allergies were going crazy. Since we’ve been using this air purifier, my allergy symptoms have improved a lot. I’m even considering buying a second, smaller unit for my craft area to help cut down even more on dust.My only “complaint” is that it’s a little noisy when the air quality gets in the “red zone”, which happens sometimes when cooking or if someone smokes in the house. But all the positives far outweigh the noise. Buy it!! You won’t regret it!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Loud, but works great! I prefer my Conway airmega but this one is still great and cheaper.

I’ve had this for about 9 months now and I regret spending so much money on this because it doesn’t work. The reader only ever shows that my air is 100% and I know it’s not. How do I know? It’s right by the bathroom and right by my dogs crates so there are a lot of stinky smells and it NEVER goes down. Then for the first time this week it went from 100% to 0% out of nowhere. No one used the bathroom, the dogs were not in the room, the closest person was 10+ feet away. It took about 2 hours for it to get back to 100%. Then it happened again the next day. The sensor wasn’t clogged and the filter had just been changed so I don’t know why it’s happened and the manual included in the package wasn’t even for the model I got so I haven’t figured out how to reset it yet. Speaking of filter though, I’m not sure why they built it this way but you have to turn the purifier upside down to change the filter and it’s not exactly a small thing. Maybe with the next model they can have it where you twist off the TOP and can put the filter in from it standing upright. Don’t buy
