Will make a great grandpa and grandson project

This is not laser cut which means it takes a lot of patience to cut out the parts. I've found the Guillows non laser cut models is thinner balsa wood and it's very easy to break the pieces. I would not recommend this to a first time balsa wood builder.

I saw some negative reviews and not sure why. This kit is a throwback to earlier days, which is apparent in some of the language in the directions. The pieces are die-cut. That’s not bad, it just means you need to be patient, not rush, and work slowly. If you want to open the box and be finished in 30 minutes, this is not the kit for you. It’s all about enjoying the process and paying attention to detail.Before you begin ANYTHING, read all of the plans/instructions. With YouTube available certain parts of construction are easier. Notably, covering with tissue. The finished product is nice, but it’s all about the build.

this is an amazing airplane to build, though i personally wouldn't suggest this airplane to a beginner builder.the parts are not lasercut and are very delicate. you have to cut the groves for the stringers which takes a little bit but that is expected in balsa wood planes. but this is a whole lot of fun to assemble and love this airplane!

Worst wood I've ever seen in a Guillows kit. Too fragile to build.Will have to buy some good balsa and make my own parts.
