Medaille d'Or Renovator – All-Purpose Leather Shoe Cleaner & Conditioner

I bought this conditioner to use on some calf leather shoes/heels. The pictures attached are after application of the SAPHIR conditioner followed by their Super Invulner. Pros: Application requires a dime size amount, so a little goes a long way. Applied with a new chamois cloth the product melted easily into the leather and provided the shoes with a conditioned shine. The product mitigated some creases and left no color or residue on the shoes. I used this on multiple shoes (different colors) and there was little to no color transferred on the chamois cloth. Cons: Make sure to use this in a well ventilated area! I mistakenly used this in my living room and the smell was STRONG. It also permeated the entire living room until the following day so be aware. If you do not clean the shoes before application I don’t believe the product will “clean” your leather (this product is more of a condition & treatment). Overall: I liked the way this product treated the fine leather goods I have. I will use this again and recommend it to others. It’s important to invest in high quality products when maintaining luxury goods so I believe it’s worth the investment. I’ve used other treatments before and the color/integrity became comprised while SAPHIR maintained & provided my items a “brand new” look.

First let me say, if someone gave less than 5 stars, they hit the wrong button. Saphir Medaille d'Or Renovateur is the undisputed champion of boot conditioning. Even the best leather tannery in the entire world, agrees with that statement. It is fact, that this product and Venetian Shoe Cream, are the only two products recommended by Horween. The latter being a thrifty alternative, and often just as good for some leathers. You really only need Saphir if you're wanting the best of the best, and for high quality leathers. Any well versed boot enthusiast can tell you that Saphir renovateur is the best. It's the only product you can use on Shell Cordovan, being 100% certain that you won't damage or discolor your precious leather. I've been learning more any more about boots and leather, since purchasing a pair of brown Bottega Venetas in Italy a few years back. I was worried about ruining the color of my boots, so I dove deep into boot forums, finally discovering Saphir Medaille d'Or Renovateur. The results were amazing, it truly rejuvenated the leather of my Bottegas Veneta boots. No darkening or splotches. I also used it on a pair of handmade American Boots with Natural Dublin leather. To my surprise, it didn't darken the leather!! The neutral disposition of this cream is remarkable. I've used a few different conditioners like Bickmore 4, Obenauf's and Huberds on my work boots. The latter 2 are far too greasy and would ruin any premium leathers. I love Saphir so much, I even use it on my newer work boots. Which are shown i the photos: White's Foreman Steel Toe Model. I do wish the price was a bit more affordable, but the results make it worth every penny! Thank you!

Saphir products are the only products I use on my collection of Goodyear welted footwear. I have purchased this cleaner/conditioner several times over the years and I have never been disappointed in this or any other Saphir product. A little goes a long way. I have never experienced any discoloration or darkening of the leathers due to this product. Rub it on with my fingers and let it dry then buff it off with a horsehair brush for a nice, easy shine. Great product.

Great product. I use this on my dress shoes maybe a couple times a year. Works well and maintains the condition of my dress shoes.

I’ve been using this cleaner/protector for 15 years or so and won’t use anything else on my leather purses and shoes. It was recommended to me by a cobbler. Anytime my shoes are looking beat up or worn out, I apply this and they look brand new; it gets out dark spots in the leather and works on pretty much any color of leather. It’s super easy to apply and one jar lasts a long time.

Product is good, do not be discouraged by its little size. The secret to this conditioner is to use very little. In fact, using too much will actually cause the shoe to feel damp and tacky. I learned this the hard way, however after a few days it all dried out. So this little size should last a long time. Keep in mind this is not a cleaner and conditioner, but just a conditioner. I would strongly recommend a cleaner first before applying this product because otherwise you run the risk of actually mixing unwanted debris and oils into the conditioner and applying it back into the shoes’ leather. This conditioner worked well yet was very gentle on my shoes’ dye. I noticed this particularly with some brown Cole Haan loafers. Using other products before, I have see brown on my rag after conditioning. This did not happen with the Saphir. My only complaint would be the price. So far this is the best conditioner I have found, but I have had VERY similar products for $10. This just depends on how particular you are about your shoes. For me, I want the best. But if you are someone that is just trying to keep your shoes looking decent and get a little extra mileage out of them, save yourself some money and look somewhere cheaper.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is the best shoe polish /leather polishing or cleaning cream money can buy. It smells weird. Applies easily and makes leather look great.

GREAT professional product for leather. I buy quality shoes and I want them to last. I recently found out about Saphire cleaners, conditoners, and polishes. I heard that Saphir has the best mix of mink oil and other ingredients in their Renovator dOr. I decided to try it on an old inexpensive pair of Docker loafers that I have not worn in over a year, they were dirty and scuffed and visibly drying. I applied a small amount with a pad of cotton [make up remover type of cotton pad] I rubbed it into the leather as if I were applying lotion to skin, I let that soak in for a few minutes that brushed with a horsehair shoe brush, then buffed it with hand/fingers using a shoe cloth. I was amazed how much better one quick application made a difference, See my photo, the shoe on the left next to the jar of Saphir Renovator is clean, and better color and less scuff. I am sure if I use a pigmented shoe cream I can make the color look solid however I want it to look slightly distressed, and classy with jeans. As amll amount is all that is necessary, this small jar cost $23.00 however it will go a long way, a little is all you need. It has an aroma to it, the fragrance does not bother me, its a natural turpintine scent from natural ingrediants. I actually kind of like the way it smells.The frangrance is the least of this products qualities, its a GREAT restorer and will make your shoes last much longer and they will look better also. I recommend it, get yourself a jar of this amazing product.
